Xiaomi capped off its Smarter Living 2021 keynote with several noteworthy announcements for the Indian market. The Mi Watch Revolve is the global counterpart of the previously launched Mi Watch Color and brings an AMOLED display and plenty of watch bands to suit your style.
The Mi Band 5 is known for its affordable yet feature-packed design while the Mi Smart Speaker aims to be the center of your connected home experience.
Mi Watch Revolve
The Mi Watch Revolve comes with a stainless steel body and 1.39” AMOLED display. It can be had with a one of four colorful silicone straps or a more formal leather option. There’s over 100 available watchfaces.
There’s also all the usual fitness tracking modes, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. It also does blood oxygen measurements, heart-rate and sleep tracking. The watch is swim-proof up to 5 ATM and has 14-day battery life with typical use or 22 days if you activate the endurance mode.
Pricing for the Mi Watch Revolve starts at INR 10,999 ($149) though there’s a discount to INR 9,999 ($135) during the Diwali festive season. Sales start on October 6.
Mi Band 5
The Mi Band line is arguably Xiaomi’s best smart accessory and the Mi Band 5 brings the latest updates with a 1.1-inch AMOLED screen, 24/7 heart rate tracking in a 5ATM waterproof design. There’s built-in tracking for 11 sport modes alongside stress management and breathing exercises as well as sleep tracking.
Battery life is rated at 2 weeks on a single charge. When it comes time to recharge, you’ll need to use the new proprietary magnetic charger included in the box.
The Mi Band 5 will be available in black, teal, purple, navy blue and orange colors for INR 2,499 ($34). Sales start on October 1.
Mi Smart Speaker
The third big announcement of today’s event is the Mi Smart Speaker. It was already launched in China earlier in the year though this time we get to see it with Google’s Assistant built-in alongside Chromecast for easy media sharing on connected devices.
The speaker is made from metal and comes with a touch control panel on top surrounded by an LED strip. It comes with a front-firing 12W 63.5mm woofer and supports the DTS audio codec for richer sounds. There are two far-field microphones located on top which should be able to pick up your voice from afar.
The Mi Smart Speaker will sell for INR 5,999 ($81) though a limited time launch offer gets it down to INR 3,499 ($47). Sales begin on October 1.
Mi Watch doesn't have SpO2 sensor which is a kind of a bummer
I highly doubt Mi Watch Revolve is using Wear OS. No Wear OS watch can hold on in normal mode for a week or two.
