The latest is indeed December 2019 on my Samsung note 8. For new model and OS probably there is new version but if samsung can leave their phone at such patch version, I do not see why Xiaomi is at fault at doing so.

Asen, 30 Jan 2020no sd card, no waterproof, no stereo speaker. No thanks It have stereo.
SD card is uselless 256 or 512GB is far more than anyone woud need and you can use cloudstorage as well.
IP resistance is useless it wont cover your warranty.
When your phone drowns you have to pay expensive repair.

Right now on 26/02/2020 based on Xiaomi's own website their latest global stable version is V11.0.3.0.QFAMIXM that is exactley what is installed on my phone. That means my phone security patch goes back to 01/11/2019. Even on their own cummunity and forums everybody is shouting about their late updates. They haven't update their OS last time for around 5 months before latest android version. I like their OS design and theme capabilities, but bugs stay through their platform forever because of their late updates.
FYI I have Xiaomi mi9 too. :-)

Look if you, for example keep all your social networks in background to get notified asap and you run let's say asphalt... Someone send you message on WhatsApp, you read it and reply, back to asphalt = reload. More ram prevent apps from it.

I have been a xiaomi user since 2016 and their software update is far the best. There was a time xiaomi used to provide MIUI updates to non other xiaomi phones until miui 8 then they dropped support for other brands. My mi 9 is on February security update and I receive update every week. There are two ways to update your phone, either you choose beta which you will get weekly updates including new features and security updates or stable which comes with every new xiaomi phone, which you will also receive updates in a month or 2 depends. So stop confusing others and choose what you want.

It released with Android 9 and there is not a peep about updating to Android 10 yet. Maybe by the time Google releases Android 12...

I was happy with Mi 9. After OnePlus 6T, heavy 180g phone, what a relief. 173g with QI and QC!
But this generation, 208grams and still notch.. I will pass.

As a new Xiaomi user I would say their software support is the worst between all other brands. I don't mind what others would say but they do not update their flagship leave all of their products aside. Monthly security updates have changed to half a year security updates.I prefer lower specifications but better software support. Bugs stay with your phone forever!!!
