Want to buy a new phone this year, but I really need to have a headphone jack. I just forget to charge my bluetooth headphones all the time, so I just want to plug in my wired headphones with never ending batgery life when my bleutooth ones are dead. Also, the connevtion is perfect on wired headphones in crowded places, with bluetooth it is not.
I do have a tablet without a jack, but I lost the dongle within a month, so no, I'm not buying new dongles over and over.

If the screen size is bigger (~ 6.8) and AMOLED with at least 10X optical zoom, then it will be a competitor to 'Samsung S20 ULTRA' for sure.
If Xiaomi is smart enough they should announce the phone before Samsung unpack event (February 11). I am sure with their aggressive pricing strategy many (including me) won't buy the Samsung S20.
However, as I of now it is only a rumor!

I do hope that this is gonna be a premium flagship with high end specs like ip certification,best in class cameras with ois ,LPDDR5 RAM etc. with some extra innovation since xiaomi has redmi k series for budget flagship.

Microsd is not really needed, as long as the usb is fast enough.
I have the 9t pro, and the headphone jack on the top is annoying. Would've preferred it to be in the bottom. But a simple adapter fixes that.

As for the 3.5" jack ... moreHow did some phones with 3.5mm jack managed to get water resistance? And let's some not so old flagships managed to get water resistance despite having card slots and 3.5mm jacks lol.
Storage is a case to case basis. If he likes making 4k videos, even 512gb won't be enough.

SD card is good for:
1) moving a lot of data, if card breaks due to use, you can replace it, can't do that with a phone
2) if your phones brakes you still have access to your data, just take the card out - can't do that with a broken phone
3) more storage at a cheaper price - my music library alone is over 200 GB, now throw Netflix and Prime shows and movies onto that. And all other apps.
I use both BT headphones and with cable. stfu

As for the 3.5" jack welcome to 2020, there is a tech called bluetooth and an adapter from usb-C to 3.5". We want waterproof phones, not with handsfree connection type liko nokia 20 years ago.
