( i mean only better at pixel level details as its 64Mp was 100% Viewable ( 100% Crop ) , But yes , it had Poor Dyanamic Range & Contrast ratio & Colours if you talk in comparison to pixel4xl & iPhone 11 , so that's important you are correct. ) This is only for Daylight , but Night Mode Iphone 11 & Pixel 4XL Thumps Up. So yes Software Processing & ISP is important.
Similarly Redmi Note9ProMax is also better then Mi10i with superior contrast etc., POCO X2 ( Redmi K30)(MIUI11 ) is also excellent at 64 & 16 Mp , main reason being the 108Mp shots are of 18Mp quality , Realme 6 Pro & 7 Pro gives near 64Mp Shots.
saadman672, 15 Jan 2021Why Xiaomi avoiding AMOLEDs and marketing more and more phones with High refresh rate IPS? AMO... moreI highly disagree. If a company does it right (and I know from personal experience Xiaomi does it right) LCDs can be good too. High refresh rates are something that once you experience once in your life you cannot go back.
Amit, 16 Jan 2021Do we have to press the power button first to use the fingerprint scanner to unlock it? you can customize it the way you prefer, PRESS or TOUCH.
saadman672, 15 Jan 2021Why Xiaomi avoiding AMOLEDs and marketing more and more phones with High refresh rate IPS? AMO... moreMay be cuz their AMOLED is not still too practical yet.
I used redmi k20 once which also used AMOLED screen. But without even damaging the phone, the screen automatically turned black after just over a year and never turn back on even though other features work fine. The phone look dead and cannot see anything on screen, but when i charged it, the alarms i set up still work and i can even turn off alarm by swiping estimated close button area on screen (dead screen).
I did not find screen replacement because screen replacement alone would cost over 50% of brand new phone. So, i kept as it is and due to inability to access screen, i cannot retreive data on that phone either, all photos, videos i took lost... -_-
Xiaomi uses these high megapixel sensors on their midrange phones to trick people into thinking that the cameras on their phones are incomparable while in reality, the camera is only decent. A classmate of mine has a Redmi Note 8 Pro with a 64MP sensor and he claims that he has the absolute best camera in our class. Remember that we have a iPhone 11 owner and a Google Pixel 4 XL owner in our class and their cameras certainly beat his camera no matter how many megapixels xiaomi putes on their phones
Do we have to press the power button first to use the fingerprint scanner to unlock it?
Why Xiaomi avoiding AMOLEDs and marketing more and more phones with High refresh rate IPS? AMOLED is better than HRR IPS display. we need amoled.
Only simslot at a time network option is in one slot. If one use both slot sim only first one uses 5g network!not both sim slot.
My Earlier review also stands true except 108mp is less detailed at 18Mp , & Night Shots @ 108mp is noisy mess (Expected) , but 12mp shots are 100% Crop Viewable , but it has anoise layer because of absurd high ISO like 15000 , 18000.
It has only two 5g bands. Can 5g bands be enabled through over-the-air update in future if need be?
I have done my review on camera my observations -
1) 12 Mp Shots are quite Good in details indoors & outdoors, but for outdoor shots it has weird Contrast & thus making it dark ,for eg - the Greens are dark , blues are dull etc. , which ruins the contrast.
At 12Mp 100% Crop there is a noise cast but its bearable.
Indoors & Night Photography of 12Mp are quite good , if you want best night shots shoot in 12MP Mode. The 12MP shots are similar to POCO X2 (MIUI 11 ) nighttime shots only it had more details , colours , contrast & sharpness being 16Mp. , Its marginally better then Night Photos of OnePlus Nord & POCO X3 etc.
To NOTE - 12Mp. night shots are oversharpened ( & Quite ) again making it weird , some many not like it , thus increasing noise , but providing little more details.
2) 108Mp. - Ok these photos are soft , image is only of 18Mp. Give or take.
in Daylight you get details of 18MP. Image , nothing more provided you just want to stretch it , During Nighttime there is no difference between 12Mp & 108Mp.
Selfie is very much improved.UWide & Macro is nothing much to talk about this setup is talked of in every phone and quality is around same.
There is only 2 Band 5G Support , unlike Moto G 5g - 11 Band 5g support.
This model has 3.5mm and MicroSD slot...
So, Xiaomi simply says, if you want 3.5mm and MicroSD then buy our poor, crap, worthless products with flagship price...
That is why I never buy any Xiaomi, even Poco Series...
MobileMann, 11 Jan 2021Mobile 5g band support is poor. I checked photos clicked on this mobile. Camera though 1... moreYeah, it's absolutely true, the main camera is not up to the mark, though front camera is good, battery back up is not good, as a normal user, one day only can survive with this battery.. Call clarity is not good, it has no noise cancellation, May be the next ota update all problems will sort out
I wonder if a phone made exclusively for India such as this one will work outside its territory say Philippines? Coz CN roms don'5 really work 100% here in my country. The CN version of this the note 9 pro 5G though you can install google services, has encountered glitches from what I read from various users. So I wonder if Indian version is a better alternative than the its Chinese counterpart coz I am satisfied with its specs.
Mobile 5g band support is poor.

Camera though 108mp, for 12mp.shots it has wierd contrast for photo stills , it's more dark, shadow details are crushed, it saturates a bit, but most images are over sharpened.
108mp photos are just not good, it loses details above 55 mp. Zoom level (ie if you zoom in to 50% on your laptop / desktop), noise is also bit high but manageable I have seen worst.
12Mp binned images have noise but again manageable, but as I said contrast is wierd, otherwise photos are excellent and night mode photos are much better then poco x3, again night mode shots are quite over sharpened which makes it look wierd and on 100% crop there is a noisy mess, so only if you see at 50 - 60% zoom, night images are viewable. but but..
I still feel overall POCO X2 (redmi k20) had a better camera, it had noise free 16 Mp stills and 64Mp Noise free (💯 % zoom) noise free images. It's night mode is bit weaker viz a viz mi 10i but only slightly(+/-10%).Again it's over sharpening was very manageable.
Mielmo, 09 Jan 2021Gonna use this as my music phone I already have the rog phone 3 as my mainThe main camera on this phone is way way better than any camera on any ASUS smartphones.
