I have been using my 10t for two years. It works on android 12 and miui 13.0.9 global. It works perfectly. The problem with the proximity sensor is visible only when talking on wats up.

Its sad that xioami is lagging behid always in terms of software update just like this MI 10T's model.. is sucks to know that having this kind of device only supported for 2 uears only.. maybe this is one of the main reason why they cant get pass over Samsung and Oppo/Oneplus... lazy and bad after sales support.

Xiaomi stopped further update beyond 12.0.5.

I have also purchased this device in India last week. Excellent cameras and battery life. But No any software updates available. My device is stuck on MIUI 12.0.5 with December 2020 Security patch and Android 10. What is wrong with Xiaomi? I tried contacting Xiaomi but not getting any proper response.

I purchased this device a week back. I am with iui 12.0.5.0. after this there is no update available.
Guess the problem arises from miuin12.5 onwards.
I suggest you force downgrade back to miui 12.0 and see if your mentioned issues remains.
I think there should be some reason why Xiaomi not providing or disabled the update to miui 12.5 or miui 13 for mi 10t
