got the phone 1 week ago, it is the real one.
I was not aware that there were fake ones selling around, in that sense i was lucky.
I can say that the phone is up to my expectations. This is my first smartphone and it feels so comfortable. The phone is very powerful, however there are many apps and games that still need to make use of the computational and graphical capabilities of the new snapdragon S4. I hope that 2013 apps will exploit the phone's true power.
the ONLY way to be sure you got the real xiaomi phone is by purchasing it straight from xiaomi's official website, it's the ONLY way. The other sellers raise up the price to make a profit, and may even sell you a fake phone. I believe November 29th is the next day xiaomi releases more phones for sale. Hope this helps.

Labotsirc, 13 Nov 2012You can find in aliexpress lots of xiaomi mi2 sellersA lot of the items on aliexpress look like fakes. I've seen at least 3 sets of pictures of what is supposedly this phone, but they all look different.
How can anyone be sure they are buying a real Xiaomi MI-2?
Labotsirc, 13 Nov 2012You can find in aliexpress lots of xiaomi mi2 sellersYes, but they ask at least 425$ for it and it's real price is 320$. Something cheaper would be nice :/
xia_fan_europe, 12 Nov 2012Well, yes, I think you are right, because maybe HDD needs some power to run or something... Bu... moreOn AliExpress, I ordered from a seller called "UGoodBuy", and they seem pretty trustworthy. I contacted them several times, and they always respond to me quickly. The seller told me that they will get Xiaomi Mi2's on the 15th of November, which I'm assuming is the release date for Mi2's second batch.
ngapap, 12 Nov 2012sorry to say but mi2 cannot support external harddisk..
it can only support pendriveWell, yes, I think you are right, because maybe HDD needs some power to run or something... But I'm OK with a 32 GB pendrive.
Besides, did anyone had any luck in finding a seller or some news regarding the phone? Or anything?
xia_fan_europe, 09 Nov 2012Well, you don't really need FM radio, there are far more radio channels on the internet, and I... moresorry to say but mi2 cannot support external harddisk..
it can only support pendrive
rajiv, 09 Nov 2012its best phone ever but what about this ,no card slot, and no FM, is it not much needed?Well, you don't really need FM radio, there are far more radio channels on the internet, and I have a portable 3G modem, so for me internet is unlimited. But imagine that you can buy a 1$ radio anytime, it would be a PITY not to buy a phone just because it does not have radio.
The other problem, well, is the SD card, MI 2 does not have one, just 16 or 32 internal. But remember that it has usb OTG (on the go). That means that with a special cable (2$) you can plug in anything usb-like, that includes flash memory, HDD, SSD, a fan(yes, a mini fan!), a mini fridge, a keyboard, mouse, anything that works with USB. So, you will just have to carry all the time the cable and a HDD, and Voila! you have a phone with 2TB of memory :D
its best phone ever but what about this ,no card slot, and no FM, is it not much needed?
NEETU, 06 Nov 2012MYCOUSIN got a mi-2 phone last week from koraa and i thought its just some china cheap phone. ... moreyeah, man, how did your cousin managed to get his hands on one?? I've been searching for more than 6 months for a phone(and I'm not kidding, I've read hundreds of reviews) and this is PERFECT for me! And believe me I've been trying for a very long time to somehow buy this, but it is impossible! And Xiaomi is just killing me, I mean, seriously, only 50.000 units so far?! And only for China?! Please, man, please, if you by any chance have the possibility to buy some, I would appreciate A LOT if you would come back here and tell us more about how we could do the same. Or you could be the one selling them, I don't mind buying one from another person, as long as his price is reasonable.
