Angry Mobile Nerd, 08 Aug 2014It's interesting whenever a phone gets launched with only 16GB non-expandable memory everyone ... moreLol. It's people like you who complain when there's a phone with 16GB non-expandable storage being launched, I don't and I never did. Please clear up your mind of what you are reading and saying. I also never said that 64GB is a stupid choice or what, it is up to the user whether they have good storage management skill to use just 16GB or not. It is you who keep telling "oh, 16GB is definitely not enough for a phone and you will regret 3 months later". Guess what? I've been using 8GB Nexus 4 for 1.5 years, 16GB Nexus 5 for half a year and 16GB Mi3 for 2 months and I've not having any sort of regret.
Oh really? The last time I visited China (May) every train and bus I'm on always have a few people using Mi3 and RedMi. I even chat around with two university students who are using a Mi3 and a RedMi Note (he got it using a F-code) and they're telling me that it's quite good but not good enough compared to his iPhone 5S. I wonder which area of China you are in to not see XiaoMi users. Of course there won't be 5 out of 10 people using XiaoMi (if that is what you meant by a lot of) but there will always be some you can find in streets, public transports and restaurants.
Race to the bottom? Definitely not happening to smartphones, or especially XiaoMi which is growing in the right direction of smart living environment. Maybe you should really look into the IT-scene sometimes.
And you're making some jokes again aren't you? Did you see me telling people Mi3 a perfect "no cons" phone? Nope. I'm telling people that it has a below average camera so it's not suitable for them if they need a good camera. I'm telling people that they should get another phone if they're looking for additional storage space. I'm not biased like you, bro. I'm not telling people to buy it or to leave it, I'm telling people what they should expect from this phone and does this phone meet their needs, and then it's up to their own decision. I even suggested people to go for Nubia Z7 Mini at a similar price or wait for OnePlus One at a higher price.
Oh yeah, I never installed Antutu on any of my phone in the pasy few years too, and what's wrong with telling people that they should remove the screen protecting film which isn't a proper screen protector?
I don't get you man, your last paragraph is completely nonsense which are false accusation against me, and you seems to be actually not knowing things around in China despite the fact that you claimed you have been in there for 10 years.

I could play all games ( even some takes a bit more time to load but no lag at all). And save a lot of juice too. Right now in 18.0 hesitating to update to 22.0 because of the removal of 3rd option...
iPhone is still the number one best selling smartphone in this planet..
Angry Mobile Nerd, 08 Aug 2014It's interesting whenever a phone gets launched with only 16GB non-expandable memory everyone ... moreha ha normal chinese people... pretty obivious since xiaomi sells only online. how come normal people know.. you dont have to point out..
linussk, 06 Aug 2014Hello Mi3 Indian users,
Any one updated their Miui to version 22.0?
In Battery - Power set... moreHello linussk
Sorry for late reply.....but its true !!
After updating to 22.0 we only get two modes for battery. I wish the third one should have been there (like HTC Desire 816 which really works wonderfully).
Overall the UI is better now and internet connectivity has also improved. For battery improvement be aware of the auto sync function. You can turn off unnecessary sync.
Also one thing missing is usage of PC net through phone when connected via USB. I have found out that if you install the Mi setup on your laptop only then it enables that option. But that setup file is in Chinease.....so its near impossible for me to install even after using Google translate :)

Now, once you buy a 16GB phone with non-expandable memory it's magically "ok" and "enough" now. Way to back peddle. *thumbs up*
Oh, you're "keen" on China? Whoop-di-doo. I said the "Average Chinese person", not the Chinese people who are surfing IT forums and websites. I'm talking about the consumers outside walking around. Of course you're going to find nothing BUT fanboys for all brands on IT forums and websites. Quit manipulating my messages. Fact is, I'm here and been here almost 10 years and day-to-day observations with my two own eyes (and not what I read online) I don't see a lot of Xiaomi's. I never said Xiaomi was small or non-threatening company, they've grown a lot since they started up and they're getting more and more attention from domestic and international players every day, like I said, it's going to turn into a "race to the bottom" like those stupid netbooks a couple years back (which I also never bought).
We could go on and on but I know your convinced the Mi3 is the magical unicorn mobile phone; all pros, not one single con, right? I stand by my original post; you're all still in the honeymoon phase (you especially). Anyways, go back to running your Antutu benchmark and telling others that they need to remove the freaking factory screen guard otherwise it interferes with the proximity sensor.
Woooooow.. Nice phone. not heavy, easy to hold, highly sensible screen, super camera quality..stylish...n whatelse u want... I recommend Xiaomi!!!
Raja, 08 Aug 2014Is this phone getting heat after 5 mins watching videos? Didn't find any issues, watched divergent full movie
Card slot is the must, we miss the card slot (External memory), But it impress the caller locations very good !!!
I would like to know how good is the hardware quality and performance as compared to similar configuration phones available in the market by different manufacturers.

Angry Mobile Nerd, 08 Aug 2014Ok so all you fanboys are basically saying had Xiaomi launched both the 16 and 64GB Mi3's in I... moreI used a 8GB Nexus 4 and 16GB Nexus 5, both of which I chosed the lower storage when the larger storage variants are available as well, and I've never faced insufficient storage. I clean up junk files and sync files to cloud (Dropbox) weekly or sometimes monthly, have multiple ROMs downloaded, a backup, having a few large games at the date and some offline Spotify tracks. What's the problem with 16GB or 8GB?
Storage management is something anyone who uses a smartphone should knows. Smart users don't just dump all their stuffs in a smartphone without managing them wisely. Smartphones are not a harddrive. Smartphones are to be used smartly.
In China average person doesn't give a sh*t about XiaoMi? I don't know man, I am keen on China communities especially in IT scenes and as far as I know all IT-related websites and organizations take XiaoMi as a very important company. Every single event, announcement, leak etc are viral on websites and news. The influence power of XiaoMi is way bigger than other competitors in China like MeiZu, Smartisan, Nubia, Vivo, HuaWei etc or the bigger names like Samsung and iPhone. Being affordable is exactly what's most incredible about XiaoMi, and there's way more about it. You're most likely one of those commonly found 米黑 in China I assume, unbelievable that they exist in GSMARENA too.
