If you bought it from official XiaoMi online sale then it might be a faulty unit and you can claim the warranty.

I have stated about how to connect 1TB, it works. MHL is Mobile high definition link, Needed Micro USB to HDMI cable to connect to HD tv to screen share from mobile. USB host is hardware feature so that it can be used for reading while you connect pendrive & writing when you connect the same slot to PC for copying contents insdie.
Hi Mi3 user friends,
i want to know whether this mobile support OTG cable and can I connect a 1TB hard disk using OTG cable?
One more question is that what is the difference between microUSB v2.0, USB Host and microUSB v2.0 (MHL), USB On-the-go.
Please reply soon.
thanks in advance.

Writing the review after about 10 days of heavy usage of this phone.
Was LUCKY enough to be able to place order on 22nd..n got delivered on 25th.Packaging was good as always with Flipkart.
About the phone(not going into specs,as most of us know it by heart at this moment):
Build Quality- Pretty good..no crackling n squeaking due to unibody design..sometimes it feels slippery so i bought a TPU soft gel case.
Display-Just AWESOME..Anybody will love watching movies n gaming on this phone..even 4.5Gb FHD prints play smoothly as butter..Touch response is very accurate..u can increase it a bit more in Glove mode.According to Xiaomi they have provided Gorilla Glass 3 in every unit but its better to have a screen guard, dont wanna damage this awesome screen.Better be safe than sorry.
Performance-Haven't experienced any lag whatsoever in these 10days of gaming, surfing, movie watching. The mobile can handle Modern combat 4,Dead trigger 2,Frontline Commando D day with no lags even in battery saving mode.Benchmarks r at par with phones costing 3 times more than this.
Only once or twice some app crashed, but its no big deal.
MIUI- Refreshing..Loads of customization to do..
Battery backup- Pretty good considering the high end specs n screen resolution.Easily lasts a day after full charge, sometimes more than a day.If someone expects latest smartphones to last 3-4 days better buy a Nokia 1100.
Speaker Quality-Is good enough if not great..But music quality using headphone is excellent.
Camera- Picture quality is very good, nice details n realistic colour..no oversaturation.
Video quality is about average, nothing special.
Internet connectivity-Network reception n browsing is fast..the stock browser provided handles everything smoothly.u can always use chrome/opera/ucweb if u wish.
Call quality n reception- The earpiece is very loud n clear..havent have any call dropped till now.And no such heating during long calls.
Usb OTG- works well with my sandisk otg pendrive, reads immediately on connecting.
In the Box-Yes the manual is in english & the charger is an Indian variant.its a 2amp output charger so charges fast but yeah with some heating.
Sim Card Tray- Nothing wrong with it,just a little tight.Give it a good push it will pop out.
1.No expandable memory. But we know this when we buy,so nothing to whine about after purchase.
2.Yes the phone gets a bit hot after graphics intense gaming n charging..but thats common in all high end phones these days.
3.The LED notification light had a bug,was not alerting for missed calls, can be corrected by a third party app.Hope it gets ok in the next update.
4.Fm radio is not working in wireless mode sometimes, donno its my device or others too.works well with headphone plugged in.
5.Lack of adequate stocks in Flipkart.Better get a fast internet connection if u wanna get this phone.
Hope this helps to decide for those who wanna go for the sale tomorrow.

The above link is the screen shot(use volume down + menu) of my batter usage, shows it's been 1 day in battery still 9% left out, which includes 2 hours of gaming, voice calls around 2 hours, and wifi on for more than 10 hours + occational 3g usagae (use to switch off, 3g drains more battery), pretty average usage with screen brightness 60%.
It is quite common for any smartphone to drain when used heavily. i understand you said screen brightness less than auto, it also depends on how much you use wifi, 3g , gaming. 3g & gaming drains more. I have Samsung Note 2 also, i did not find MI3 draining faster than Note 2. Actually I found MI3 to be more efficient than Note 2.
