Played several games ranging from 40MB to 1.8 GB, and here is the outcome:
Temaple run oz: 47 MB: minimal heating
traffic racer: 40 MB: minimal heating
frontline commando 2: 7 MB apk, 80 MB cache, total 100 mb approx: heavy heating & rapid battery drainage
Call of duty strike team: 30 mb apk, 1.7 gb cache, total 1.8 gb: very minimal heating, normal battery drain.
So, all n all, I feel heating is also determined by how game developer has set to use phone resources....

james, 10 Sep 2014does it really have a gorilla glass 3?i dont think so..YES
Xiaomi Mi 3 smartphone does not protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Since I dropped my Mi3 accidently just less than one feet height, the screen was damaged and now it is not working; therefore, it is not made with Gorilla Glass 3. For confirmation, I checked this in corning also. It is not listed.
So I contacted flipkart, Mi3 customer care, painfully there is no support; customer care itself don’t know in the position to rectify the problem or about their cost of the spare parts or not in position to tell any detail. When I contacted the number (Chennai) given by the customer care, again poor or no response or NO SERVICE / NO SPARES as on date.
With their all answer, now I have to throw my new damaged Mi-3 phone to the dust bin.
Now I understood the reality of USE & THROW policy of my Mi 3 phone instead of paper cubs.

I don't know how to use NFC transfer of MI 3 phone if anyone does please reply.
I bought the phone 3 weeks earlier. I like the phone, there is no problem with the phone. It feels solid in hand. Build quality is nice. My friend has nexus 5. Mi3 opens every aap faster such as FIFA 1and asphalt 8. I have not faced any lag or hang till now. Camera quality is good but not up to par of nexus 5. User interface is very user friendly. I accidentally dropped it few times, once from one floor on concrete. It just got little tapered at the corner. It had also fell once facing screen on marble from height of about 6 feet but there is no problem with phone. It works just like it was when new.
It is very very good phone for the price of rs. 13999
You should buy it if don't think your status will go down for using a Chinese phone

[deleted post]Can anybody recommend me which 3.5 mm earphones are showing good quality sound
Well well well. I think I will be the only person in India who got this phone. Twice. Had to exchange it once because of the battery drain issue. The phone went dead, just like that and I had to charge my phone for 20mins just to see the red notification light on. Apparently there was a complete drain of battery. For no reason. The same has happened with my new mi3. Since I am use to it now I will see if it was only a one off thing or a recurring thing.
I proposed flipkart that they replace this mi phone with a phone of similar specs. Only because I was so pissed with marketing strategy and lack quality of the device. I wanted nexus 5 or moto x in exchange for my mi phone. These phones will face a price drop as their successor are going to hit the marketing anytime now. Hence it made perfect sense to me to suggest this a billion dollar company. I failed in my attempt. Moving on.
The manufacturers claim that the phone gives a 21 hour 3G. But that being said I think that it's the stand by time on 3g if that makes sense. I am still not very happy with the battery performance with the replacement. I shall test it for a week more. The endurance tests on gsm arena makes more sense.
This phone is simply amazing. The phone is slim, light and a powerhouse. But the thing is the UI forces apps to crash for no rhyme or reason. But I guess the MIUI6 update shall take care of it. That's the only negative of the UI and otherwise is extremely user intuitive. The makers have kept all the essentials. We won't need to install apps like cleaners, torch, file explores or anything of that sort.
Response of the screen is as good as the display of the phone. And I must tell you the display is beautiful.
Only if flipkart had more balls to tell Xiaomi to cut their selling BS. I wanted a black 64gb variant. Is that hard for a third world country to even get that? I wonder if refurbished goods and send to our country for a cut price? If they are selling a 18k phone (mrp) for 14k just imagine how much flipkart is paying for the deal. I am guessing a round figure of 10k is convenient enough. Ignoring this. Or if the quality of the product was not compromised on The phone pretty f - in awesome.
As far a servicing is concerned just hope you don't have to hit that place. But if you do then do the drill.
The camera is beautiful in day light as rightly said by others and it's not too bad in night either. Way better than moto x I must say.
The sound of mi3 in earphones is mmmmm yummy . None of that Samsung BS. It actually feels like it's more than a phone when you plug in your earphones. But don't forget selecting the apt mode for your earphones and equalizer settings.
As of now the battery drop is 2% after 9.5 minutes of talk time and 11 minutes of on screen run. The phone has been 1 hours 35 minutes on battery. Idk how to evaluate this performance. Only if there was a way to find out if the battery is healthy or not.
If you want to play safe to get the moto g2 straight up. But it's no mi phone that's for sure.
