Austin69, 01 Dec 2015Hey is it safe to buy mi products from mi.com?I think its safeST
I've used Xperia S
And now even in 2015 I'm looking for a phone considering budget, well I ended up here
Just one last thing bothering me,
Is the sound Quality too bad in headphone? (Don't care about Speaker performance)
(Even worse then Redmi 2?)
Can anyone confirm me?

vaish, 30 Nov 2015I am using mi4 for 2 month. Miui7 updated. Good phone.good battery backup. I played fifa14 for... moreJust put your on Airplane mode and enjoy bugs. :) This is one amongst many bugs in MIUI, but this is probably the most critical one. Battery backup is much lower than Mi3.
And Kitkat may not be a drawback. Lollipop and Marshmallow have tons of serious bugs. Android was relatively better only till Kitkat. Let us hope for a relatively bug free MIUI ROM, rather than one on the latest OS. Besides, MIUI give you some of the new features anyway.

roscoe108, 26 Nov 2015@Freshness: Where the heck did you find a Mi 4 for only $38??? Tell me...refurbished in terrible condition. probably
roscoe108, 26 Nov 2015Where oh where can you get the Mi 4 for $38??I am so sorry, I placed two orders that day, one 7" tablet and one MI4W cell phone and I accidentally mixed up costs, the tablet was $38 and the cell $209. My bad.
Mi4 has a critical bug that causes severe battery drain in standby / Airplane mode. You just need to activate airplane mode once or twice to see the effects! This causes hardware damage and also reduced battery life. This has been a known bug since MIUI 6 but Xiaomi has been ignoring it till date.
To get Xiaomi's attention to, please follow this link to MIUI forums and just click the "Confirm" button (in the 1st thread itself). Xiaomi pays more attention to bug reports with more confirmations. You will need to log into your MIUI account or create a new one there, which will take half a min. Please also consider posting your rant in the thread, if possible.

In case you aren't using Airplane mode, please do it anyway, as it may still effect battery life and you never know when you will need it. Ideally, you should be using Airplane mode at least every night (if you don't need to be on call all through the night). Just use it on your devices and see how your battery back up increases. Also use it in areas of nil or fluctuating network, as the phone uses significantly more battery in such areas. Battery loss when in Airplane mode should not be more than 0 to 1 % per night/day. Switching phone off instead of using Airplane mode is not a good idea as it takes more battery and causes needless wear.
