Recently purchased the MI4C.
So far good phone. Got several annoying "features" that I can't seem to fix:
- Notification line is very narrow, and barely readable.
Online forums suggest changing a theme. I like the phone's default.
Isn't there another solution? Please assist.
- Red underlines while typing. When a foreign language (e.g. Hebrew), the
phone detects all of the words as typos. Can't find a way to turn off the spell check.

fach, 26 Jun 2016Can i got english language in a chinese rom?Yes, i want to buy one in Chine, it was possible to change it to english. But the pre installed aps where still in Chinese.
AND, you will have a problem with 3G in Europe as the chinese ones are only CDMA and nor WCDMA.. So no 3G in Europe with the chinese one.
Now i buy mine in Kirgistan which is cheaper than in china and suport WCDMA...

Nice information. It's nice features phone with this price but the phone has some issues like phone camera quality is not so good.

There is no official global ROM for this device and there will most probably never be one, so this phone ships ONLY with the original Chinese ROM. Now there are plenty unofficial localized ROMs, like the one created by MIUI.eu team, and the phones sold outside China might be flashed by the resellers using one of those ROMs or its variant just to increase the attractiveness of the device for the foreign buyers, usually adding bloatware or even malware in the process. You can check this using the Xiaomi official website: http://en.miui.com/download-293.html - the download page for Mi4c which was never released globally has only Chinese ROM download links, while Mi4i sold in India has both Chinese and Global ROM available http://en.miui.com/download-263.html.

I am not tech guy...i am unable to undrstand?? :/the phone ships with 2 variants of the miui os: there is one with an chinese version, which can have bloatware and an other one with global rom which is intended to use in countrys outside uf china. if you get the chinese version, you can still flash the global rom http://en.miui.com/thread-92720-1-1.html

Bought 3/32 version directly from China and put CM13 on it. Everything works beautifully. No lag, great display, great camera, great battery, very light. The white version reminds me of Lumia phones. Cyanogenmod is the way to go. Just search Team Superluminal on the net. Cheers
