Verizon Wireless, for example, uses 1XRTT for all of your voice calls and LTE for data. This used to be why Verizon phones couldn't simultaneously use voice and data. Verizon found a way around this with dual-radio deployments, but with VoLTE there'd be no need for that.
GSM users on AT&T and T-Mobile haven't had this issue because their voice and data streams can be processed by the same radio.

The best is to go to a mobile vendor (shop) and look at the phone yourself (view the menu's etc.) also ask people in your city or town, if 3 out of 10 say the phone is bad but other 7 say it's ok or great, then you have your answer (good phone).
I have just bought mi5 as i was earlier using mi3 and i liked it most so i trusted company and bought mi5. Most imp is that i was looking for VOLTE handset and when i saw mi5 is VOLTE i bought it but later when i insurted jio sim i shocked that it is not supporting VOLTE and when contacted to customer care then they replied to wait for next update version of mi5 . Now only china updated version is available so i have to wait. I think it was my bad decision to buy this one. If i had to use only data i would have prefer other handsets below 15000.

Best is to google the android version you want to update to first (before applying the update), see what they say for your model of phone (Xiaomi Mi 5).
I am from india and i am using Indian retail unit.. I recently got an software update which bumped the miui 7 version to 220.127.116.11
I got double tap to wake in this update but it's not working at all..
Has anyone facing the same problem... Double tap to wake is so Buggy
Anonymous, 25 Apr 2016This phone has too many stability problems out of the box from overheating to battery drain. ... moreHi Anonymous, I totally agree with you. There is an old saying - you get what you pay for. So if you pay $450 (US) and more, you get a fast, durable, quality phone. If you pay $230 (US) you get a good phone - but don't expect (fast, durable, quality) of a $450 (US) and more phone. Also, remember to add shipping and import duty to price if ordering via website (some websites do this for you, others might not). Even more important: is there a local supplier (who is able to repair) the phone your are ordering from website, does the website provide a warranty for repair or replacement. Spending $300 (US) on a phone that might go faulty after a week with no warranty is NOT wise.
900 and 1800 Mhz used in Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, Africa.
850, 1900 Mhz used in North America and South America.
800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 Mhz used in UK.

When buying a mobile phone in your country (locally) or from overseas (via website), first wait a few weeks to see if there is anything wrong with phone (network, battery, phone or apps freeze up/hang) prior to applying a new rom (or rooting your phone). If you apply a new rom (or root your phone), the supplier or manufacturer will notice it when returning for repair or replacement, and your warranty will be voided.

But this situation can very well be compared with phone in tight jeans, riding bike with phone in pant pocket, keeping phone in bag side pocket with tight luggage.
It would be ok if he had applied too much of effort. But in the video its just like breaking a cookie...appears too fragile.

Jerry rig has said so in the description. It reads as "IF Xiaomi wants to send me a Mi5 Pro to test, I will happily do so, (unbiased.) but I probably wont buy another one. I always fund my own videos, and this hobby is getting expensive"

The tumble, scratch, water, is a more reasonable test in real life, fire and bend and Coca-Cola test are just pure gimmicks
Jerry rig everything is more like a Samsung fan ,me too .But that does not mean that every phone will bend ,he even bended the nexus 6p and even the hard HTC one m9. I don't know why would any company will give their phone for phone for such bend testnif their phone are so weak. These units are provided by some other company for wrong device.
Xiaomi mi 5 is a good device they took almost 2 years to built and design the phone.I am not saying that the bend test is false, but we shouldn't believe everything just by some misleading concept.
