AnonD-382525, 25 Feb 2016Even Samsung has learned their lesson regarding NOT having an expandable memory slot on their ... moreEven the pro version 128GB is only 1/2 the price of S7 64GB. What do you expect ?
Is there a point to use a microsd when you can buy 128GB at that price ?
If 128GB at only $420 does not satisfy you because it lacks microsd, then I suggest you to stick to Samsung S7 64GB for $800 & buy the microsd you want.
Waow...that's a great from design, I like from bezel backcover camera design. Hmm 820..
No problem without no cardslot so that is enough
For 32,64, or 128 gb :-)
Even Samsung has learned their lesson regarding NOT having an expandable memory slot on their Galaxy S6... and have since re-introduces memory slot in the Galaxy S7. And yet, XiaoMi have once again failed to do so in their flagship phone...
This seems to give plenty for the money, but as I'm not too familiar with Xiaomi's phones, I have the following questions:
1. To my understanding, Xiaomi's phones are "bootloader-locked" and are possible but much more difficult than others to grant rooting to. Is that correct? How much of a task is it to install a different ROM on the Mi's?
2. Xiaomi made services and applications from Google unavailable on their Chinese phones. If I'll order one from China, will I only be able to install Google services after installing a different ROM?
3. And I can see it won't support SD cards and will have a "non-removeable battery": while I think it's still quite a shame on the SD part, this one is manageable to overlook as a major con if their internal storage is trustworthy (a statement which I cannot validate; how well have their older models kept so far?); but the non-removeable battery? Batteries tend to grow weary after a year+ of usage. Is replacing these an issue? Are genuine replacement batteries even available for ordering?
Thanks in advance.
Great device but the bootloader is locked? No way for custom rom?

DeerArt, 24 Feb 2016The screen has >420 ppi, it will look great. This is because of managing the hardware to give in low price.....
AnonD-476243, 24 Feb 2016the mi logo on the front should be eliminated, that really look no great Its look like superior...
Anonymous, 24 Feb 2016why only 3.000 mah of battery?is low, too low. The miui software is not properly optimized to ... moreSeriously? Tell this to S7 which has same battery capacity and a 2k display or to G5 which has bigger display and lower battery capacity... We're used with xiaomi putting bigger capacity batteries in their phones and now when everybody started doing it it doesn't seem such a big deal.
For this weight and size, I doubt we could've expected more.
no microsd? FAIL!
There is only 1 thing i absolutely hate...like Huawei Xiaomi is dividing into 4gb and 3gb variant. Utterly useless thing to do.

AnonD-505661, 24 Feb 2016Mi 5 is the only flagship with reasonable price. Hats off, Xiaomi. Make it available worldwi... morethey have great phones, but they will never be a true winner without a global supply chain and after sale services.
the time is not far that you will be the leading smartphone brand in worldwide.thanks xiaomi for giving the people such as great devices with affordable price.
It will hit all flagships sale very hard......xiaomi surely shaken the mobile market. Wonder what other major companies will do to fight back.
