Guys, did any of ur phones vane wiyjout battery charge? Mine just arrived and the battery is completely empty... I plug it and still looks like not charging... :(
I trully dont understand the negative comments here.
I just upgraded from mi5 to mi5s and can confirm that mi5s is tep forward in built quality, design and palm comfort.
I had mi5s black edition and whilst is a great phone the ceramic back was a fingerprint magnet. It was also very slippery and imposible to hold in one hand. Beautiful but not functional. The aluminum bezel was coated and extremely prone to scratches. Getting very hot as well. Apart from that good looking and smoothly working. Fingerprint sensor felt outdated and button cluncky.
Comparing with above, mi5s is made of high grade alimunim on which you can't see a fingerprint so the phone looks pristine at all times. Dropped the phone few times and I'm yet to spot a scratch on it. And if you are qurious yes I dont use covers. I love looking at this phone. It's a cracker. Furthetmore the aluminum is brushed and doesn't feels slippery. Very comfortably can be operated with single hand. It is beautifully finished abd the aluminum edges nicely flow into the screen giving it a unique unibody feel. The fingerprint sensor is also much more advanced and the button is solid now - a touch button. It is also bigger, easily fitting a fingerprint, no more sliding over the. And finally it comes with MIUI8 and 3D touch. Also has powerful double speakers at the bottom.
Both mi5 and mi5s battery kept me running through the day with ease. Pleased with both.
Mi5s is by far the best phone Xiaomi had made. It is a very beautifully put together that it can dirrectly compete with apple and samsung. It is indeed world class device
Why is the battery endurance lowe than mi5 even with a bigger battery.....
I was so sure it will cross 100 hours.

Whatever benefits the 5S add, there are sacrifices to make that don't make up for the minor benefits. My advice is to stick with the Mi 5.
The mi5 was a great looking phone, don't understand why they made the 5s thicker and uglier and heavier with very similar specs and just 200 mah of battery more. Please xiaomi (and others), stop following apple's and HTC's design because they're not always right; a well executed glass body like the mi5 or galaxy S7 is the most beautiful, warm and premium and scratch resistant you can get in a phone while this aluminum bar design is making all phones look the same : very cold and without character :(
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is a great phone. The 5s has SD 821, a speed boost but why is it bulkier than the Mi 5?? Wider, taller, thicker and quite a bit heavier - 145g vs only 129 for the Mi 5? I pay attention to bulk. In that respect the Mi 5 is better. Also, if you already have SD 820, who would notice the speed bump to the SD821?
Does any of you have problem with the GPS? I'd like to buy this phone, but I noticed Chinese phones have often issues with geo location/

-It uses mostly same materials as other ... moreBut those are tried and tested materials which everyone uses.
Now you commented downgrade in design. This means Xiaomi is using materials which are even lower than those used by others.is that you meant by downgrade?
So my honest question is, if it is same like others ,then what is downgrade in it?
I am very specifically asking this question. If you understand basics, Design and Materials are two different things which make a device.
Design is a visual entity which define the looks of a device.
Materials are hard elements which realise the Design.
You started with comment - downgrade in terms of design and when I asked you a about materials, you smartly agreed to material as generic.
My teacher had told me - don't comment if you don't know.
In terms of design, Xiaomi is one Chinese phone maker, who doesn't shamelessly copy iPhone. Though it takes inspiration, but tries to do something than just blind copycats like OPPO, VIVO and company.
It never hypes like One+ and always delivers a value for money products.

vino41, 21 Oct 2016Too generic.What is generic?
It uses mostly same materials as other flagship phone- metal, gorilla glass, antenna lines, Sony camera sensors, fingerprint scanner etc.
It is not trying to be like iPhone in looks either.
This just honest curiosity only.
aatif khan, 21 Oct 2016My honest question- how is it downgraded?Too generic.
vino41, 21 Oct 2016I think it is a downgrade in terms of design, just my honest opinion. My honest question- how is it downgraded?
I think it is a downgrade in terms of design, just my honest opinion.

Bluerain, 20 Oct 2016My LG G5 has universal remote (IR Blaster) and an FM. :)Good.
But the fellow whom I replied knows Mi costs 40% less than G5. And paying that additional 40% just for FM tuner and remote control doesn't go down well in his head. But that anger is vented on poor Xiaomi, coz he can't do that on any other flagship I mentioned.
Gadgets ( like dressing sense) one carries reflects the personality of the owner. Flagship owners belong to a league who are more interested in productivity features and top notch performance rather than worrying about FM tuner and remote control. If it's included it's good, but need not be mandatory.
Blackberry were pure business gadgets. It never really needed FM or IR. It may be on decline, but it is still a preferred device for most of professionals. Only those who don't know it's productivity, criticises.
Nickhawk, 20 Oct 2016No infrared port, nor radio FM? Even the camera is also not very comprehensive. The next please! Do you have this device ? Or you are just commenting based on what your friends told you?
No high end / flagship phones have FM radio - Pixel, iphone7,Galaxy S7,Galaxy S7 edge,LG V20,One+3,HTC 10.
Check all the above mentioned flagships.
Are you buying a FM radio and universal remote control OR you want to buy a flagship device?
Mi5s is flagship offering of Xiaomi. They want to sell flagship devices and not FM tuner and universal remote control.
