N... moreManufacturers like to not provide the option for SD cards because of some real bright customers (sarcasm) who puts very old or cheap (in short, slow and crappy) SD cards in their phones. This results in the phone getting very slow and then they blame the manufacturer.
Xiaomi is still very new compared to its competitors. So obviously they have many haters (other brand fanboys). These people just need an excuse (no matter how stupid it is) to blame xiaomi and from xiaomis point of view removing the slot is one less way they can get blamed.
However, their phones are dirt cheap. Here in Asia the 256 GB ceramic Mi 6 with the gold accents is about half the price of the s8+ and the other flagships. Just get that and you wont need a SD card.
I was seriously considering buying this, but then I see one thing that makes it a no for me. No memory card slot, that is totally unacceptable in 2017. I was willing to let go of the fact that it has no 3.5mm audio jack, but not this one.
The phone overall is amazing for its price, but not adding a micro sd card slot was a stupid mistake by Xiaomi.
I hope Xiaomi will provide USB headset and make waterproof on Xiaomi Mi 6s or Xiaomi Mi 6 plus.
Just these two things that i want see on the Xiaomi.
whole thing about xiaomi - you can't buy it.
I live in China and guess what - you go to MiHome and there are no mi6 for sale, you order it online and it says it's sold out. The same with mi5s 128gb.
There are more than 5 millions of S8 already sold, and what about mi6? no more than 200k
Gsmarena fears to make a full review of this phone because then this cheap China phone will destroy the posers that come in the form of G6 , S8 and XZP. I mean just look at the specs. Front facing fingertip, flagship amount of ram disallowing apps to die in the background, plenty of battery, one handed usability, none of that 4k/ pseudo QHD gimmick resolution.
Probably the cameras would not be that good, but even them have some good points (zooming for example)...

Anonymous, 12 May 2017Wait this phone does not have MiUi 9 i thought they release it with this since it already is o... moreThere's no direct relationship between MIUI version and base Android version. MIUI 8 is available for Android 4.X up to 7.X.
Of course it will be launch out side china but not now
when sd835 become outdated then they will launch
we will get one plus 5 sooner then mi6
How long should we wait for a review?!!
What's wrong with you guys?!
Bhushan, 20 May 2017Guys, i compare Mi 5 and Mi 6. In comparison they showed that Mi 6 doesn't have audio 3.5 jack... moreYou have 3 options:
-Use USB-C to 3.5mm adapter and use your old wired headphones
-Buy USB-C wired headphones
You can use in box the USB-C to 3.5 mm Jack converter to use normal headphones.
Guys, i compare Mi 5 and Mi 6. In comparison they showed that Mi 6 doesn't have audio 3.5 jack.So we need to use only wireless headphones with Mi 6.?
BTM ktm, 15 May 2017When the buyer incur 30k or 40k for a gadget he expects good quality. He doesn't bother about... moreIt may be your outlook that the weight of a phone does not matter much. But the reality is different. In fact, the weight of the phone does matter because you cannot use a heavier phone continuously. Heavier phones tend to strain the hands and they are a royal pain when it comes to using it continuously.
