Both these phones are equally prem... moreMy mom's A70 unfortunately has touchscreen issues, even after resetting. Brought it to Samsung, factory reset and so on, issue is still there. Hardware repairs took at least 1 to week. And then, looks like they're coming again. Maybe the One UI is killing the phone? Haha, hope not.
If you want to get the latest A series phones, wait a while 'cos it looks like some of their batches are a bit problematic.

Definitely the Mi9 has the better camera and it also has wireless charging, which is still rare in the price bracket.
But for someone like me, I value battery life, headphone jack and MicroSD card slot more than the top tier processors and better cameras found in the Mi9. Plus, I prefer Samsung's One UI over Xiaomi's MIUI.

The single bottom firing speaker is loud but not so good. It tends to become distorted and cracky when you turn up the volume to 100% and play some high volume sounds.

Not everybody needs Top notch processor. For some (like me) design, camera & headphone jack is more important than the Processors.

1) 2... moreI disagree to say that OPPO Color OS is better than MIUI.
Ok, on basic, I have nothing against these UI thing, since it doesn't affect the usage of apps and gaming for daily usage, it get the job done.
The only problem is the updates. OPPO have this track record on bad Android update, you can read these comments on GSMArena forum, they won't give any update even the device is still within one year, and even if they provide update, they are much slower update than other brand.
Recently on June 2019 their sibling only give Android Pie updates for Vivo and Realme smartphone, but OPPO side of phone still wait, while many flagship phone already get the Pie update before 2019.
You need to understand no phone is perfect, and also there will be newer and better phone release in the future, so it is actually unfair to compare a phone that is recently released to a phone that is released earlier.
Then, price point is also a thing. SD855 in Mi9 definitely trump over the SD710 on the normal Reno, on par with Reno 10x with the same SD855, but the price point sold is higher than Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus in my country, of course Mi9 128GB is much cheaper than OPPO Reno 10x Zoom.
It is a choice, if you just focus on camera, then OPPO Reno might be the better choice, but you cannot omit all it's downside due to you being favor more for only the camera, where you assume camera is everything.

mi9 is the nr.1 flagship now as you can't really get anything better. S10 doesn't look rootable, no ROMs published. Onepluses ain't got no wireless charging, or LED light. And that's it.
can't believe i'm charging 20 straight watts without cable! that's the innovation samsung should have brought 5y ago. also i have very thin and light magnets attached to the case, so i can come to the car and it will stick to the magnetic holder and charge! Before, i used to place it in a giant holder, then lock it, and then attach a cable - that was inconvenient.
regarding battery, it looked poor in the beginning, but once settled in, it's pretty good. Leaving home with 75% left with permanent bt, vpn, location tracking and tons of stuff. No worries that the phone would be discharged next day. 1+ is even better, true, like perhaps staying 2 days. But i got rid of it because of very slow cable charging and no wireless charging.
