Yakinthi, 26 Aug 2018Which one would you recommend, this one (mi a1) or redmi 5plus? Thank youGo with Mi A1.
However, if you can spend few extra bucks ,opt for Mi A1. Better processor. Other advantage is it will receive Android 10 as well. mi A1 with end with Android 9.

Which one would you recommend, this one (mi a1) or redmi 5plus? Thank you
I've been using this device since January, best buy at that time (193€) for a budget smartphone. Overall it's been a very solid experience with very few issues. It's still as smooth as first day with no stuttering or touch screen issues, battery still holds for a long time even after 2+ months of extensive gaming. 4 hours of SOT with max brightness, 6+ hours on adaptive brightness using it on mostly WiFi.
[ pros ]
- premium design
- smooth & fast stock android
- frequent updates
- great battery optimization
- quality portrait mode
(low light major drops in overall quality)
[ cons ]
- no fast charging
- mediocre 5mpx front camera and no image stabilization
(gcam can be installed without root and it is great)
Leader Bob, 25 Aug 2018İt's not fail of Xiaomi it's fail of GoogleIs Xiaomi fault as Google will send the update to Xiaomi first, Xiaomi will made some modifications before releases to customer.
This is due to the reason Xiaomi has customisation to MiA1 stock Android.

I want to say that it is working very well with my MiA1. Never actually ran into major issue which affects my experience with MiA1. Battery is always great since I got it in October last year.
Yes the only major problem are the updates that delayed and slow and new Android version should have been released to us. In the end it is Xiaomi's fault that delaying the MiA1 major update, Google also responsible for not strict in handling AndroidOne hardware vendor for releasing software updates.
