When will you people grow up and and start caring about the more important details. Battery, 3.5mm jack, speakers, slots (This one has a hybrid slot, but at least it's not expensive and you can easilly buy the 128GB version and use 2 sim cards).
I'm a mi max 128GB/4GB RAM (PRIME) user .There is not much of a difference with this Mi Max 2 aside from the Battery and Platform. Why bother upgrading?!

The addition of an FM radio is inexpensive and does not use much space. There is also the aspect of using the radio in a disaster zone, very useful for PSAs.
I think Xiaomi should use SD660 instead of SD625...because this MiMax 2 its a phablet...you can do multitasking with the bigger screen...for the sake of price...come on...
Leon 1959, 06 Jun 2017Does anyone knows if mi max 2 will have radio fm like mi max? It's not verified yet if the mi max 2 has FM radio. I hope it has FM radio like the original Mi Max. It's stupid for a smartphone not to have an FM radio even if not all users use it often (many still use it everyday, and prefer it to spotify or mp3 playback). It really becomes handy for real time local news broadcast and local music and programs which spotify and other music and news sites can never provide even with unlimited data plan. A smartphone without FM radio and IR blaster should not be called a smartphone. These two are essential features in addition to fingerprint, GPS/navigation/maps, internet access and essential apps like offline dictionary, offline Wikipedia, currency/units converter, ruler, mirror, calculator, language translator, bar code reader/qr reader, etc.

It means no other company other than the named licensee can exploit the Snapdragon 660 intellectual property right for now. Initially Mi Max 2 was planning to use Snapdragon 660 chipset but Oppo paid a hefty sum to take over Snapdragon 660 to make a vigorous propaganda on their R11. There is some rumor in my hometown saying Mi will have a chance to release Mi 6X with Snapdragon 660 , facts of this news have yet to be verified.

Same useless LTE bands as the first phone. Why bother upgrading? Doesn't Xiaomi want to be a world player or not? Ditch CDMA and double the LTE bands.
Unknownymous, 03 Jun 2017Please release a Mi Max 2 Pro later with a Snapdragon 660 chipset, bluetooth 5.0, stereo speak... moreHighly unlikely Mi would have a chance to release a 660 because that 660 patent have been bought by Oppo. I was hoping them to have a prime version with 820 though.
Xiaomi phones in general has rather modest camera, compared to its Chinese competitors. It is good enough for casual use. But as competition getting pierce in Chinese market, I hope that Xiaomi adopt better camera for its phon.
I don't think that dual camera is worth its cost for now, but OIS(optical image stabilizer) is very handy feature to have for better casual photo.
Please release a Mi Max 2 Pro later with a Snapdragon 660 chipset, bluetooth 5.0, stereo speakers and home button with a fingerprint on top of it. Everything is so good about this Mi Max 2 except those features that I mention.
Not sure what's the issue with the fact that it does not come in Black... Had black, white and my Mi Max is now Gold. This is very subdued, is not tacky and looks very elegant. Would not change it for a black one for anything... booring ;-)
Dearest Xiaomi.Just thanks for offering the best possible specifications for an affordable economical inexpensive budget smartdevice for absolute majority of people though RN3 Pro is still on the top trending list....Justice Rights.Omid12Omidvar looks and sees.
Design-wise, the back has THE same design only they swapped the positions of the camera and the led lights.
On the front, THE very same, but at least, I assume, that the black border around the screen has been decreased satisfyingly. The huge black border on the Mi Max is annoying, not to mention falsely advertising its screen in the ad image. But sadly, going back to the Mi Max 2, the bezels are a bit larger than the Mi Max.
Speaking of annoying black borders around the screen, they really need to have a black version of this one, at least at the front (even if the black border is not visible enough anymore). (in case the black border is still big on the Mi Max 2) To make the border blend in when the screen is on.
For the others:
SD625/626 - focuses on battery consumption efficiency
SD650/652/660 - focuses on performance
Still the performance of SD625 is reasonable enough for some performance-intensive games.
Lolol, 29 May 2017Yeah and price will be higher and u can choose samsung huawei or sony if you want changeMaybe, or maybe I shall choose Mi MAX 1 PRIME, than I chooose MI MAX 2.
Maybe, I'll choose MI MIX, thinking about price of MI MAX 2 - I would pay more, but I'll get better phone, with almost the same screen size with smaller measures.
But when I thought about MI MAX 2, while I didnt know specifications, I waited improvements, not lower specifications. I don't need USB Type-C, but I need greater performance for the same price. So if MI MAX 2 would be with SD660 - I would say - MI MAX came to show us new experience. Thats it.
