On you tube videos they says it doesn't support NFC. YouTube does indeed confirms the lack of NFC.
Disappointing.
I am waiting of this phone to come in India

Well, if from original Mi Max user, no need upgrade now as not much difference.
But for new user, definitely get the Mi Max 2, it is a very good phone.
Else, get Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon edition for smaller screen size as I know big screen is not for everyone.
Bother on no apps drawer? Install Nova Launcher or other launcher and fix it.
Wait for it to launch official global rom for better Google Play and Google apps integration.
Price get cheaper overtimes too.
when this is coming to INDIA
Machigo, 12 Jun 2017Okay guys, here's a real review of the Mi Max 2 after 2 days of full-time usage.
+ The buil... moreAlso, I'd like to add that I've been using the first Mi Max (SD652 version) before.
I sold it after 3 months of usage, because of the rear camera. I did not enjoy the quality, so I decided to go for S7 edge.
Now I'm selling my S7 edge, because the Mi Max 2 has fixed everything that the first edition had wrong. So guys, I switched from SD820 to SD625. And there has been literally NO difference!
Don't look at the numbers, believe the users and the experiences! :)
Okay guys, here's a real review of the Mi Max 2 after 2 days of full-time usage.
+ The build quality has gone up through the roof, it feels more like a flagship phone!
+ The speakers work great in gaming, also in conference calls. Good quality overall.
+ The screen has poor viewing angles, but it's very bright even under direct sunlight. Good vibrant colors and sharpness.
+ USB-C and fast charging works great: from 0 to 100 in 2,5 hours!
+ SD625 works just fine, even during gaming. No lagging so far.
+ 4gb ram is enough for quite a lot of multitasking!
+ The main camera is awesome. It takes absolutely wonderful pictures with great detail.
+ And yes, the battery life... god damn, 2 days of hard use and I have 35% battery left!
- The front facing camera is average, nothing to be excited over...
- There still is black borders, but they have been hidden with the white bezels. This means the screen-to-body ratio has suffered a little bit
- Be sure to buy large pocket jeans / pants, because this won't fit in your chinos!
- MIUI is disgusting, because it reminds me of iOS... :) I'm running Nova launcher, so this fixes the issue for me.
- No direct support for Google services / Google Play
Overall, the phone is very good value for the money. I highly recommend it for a daily driver, it works perfectly under any circumstance.
Myrts, 12 Jun 2017I'm a mi max 128GB/4GB RAM (PRIME) user .There is not much of a difference with this Mi Max 2 ... moreI don't think Mi Max 2 is for current owners of the original Mi Max but those who held back buying. For what it's worth, I would have bought one were it not for that eyesore of a huge black border. Apparently that screen border has now been minimized in Mi Max 2.
Myrts, 12 Jun 2017I'm a mi max 128GB/4GB RAM (PRIME) user .There is not much of a difference with this Mi Max 2 ... moreAnd stereo speakers too. The Mi Max 1 has a quiet and low qiality speaker according to gsmarena. Hope the stereo speakers in the 2 will be better.
AnonD-466881, 10 Jun 2017I think Xiaomi should use SD660 instead of SD625...because this MiMax 2 its a phablet...you ca... moreLOL, you mean 8x2.0GHZ isn't enough for multitasking?
When will you people grow up and and start caring about the more important details. Battery, 3.5mm jack, speakers, slots (This one has a hybrid slot, but at least it's not expensive and you can easilly buy the 128GB version and use 2 sim cards).
I'm a mi max 128GB/4GB RAM (PRIME) user .There is not much of a difference with this Mi Max 2 aside from the Battery and Platform. Why bother upgrading?!

The addition of an FM radio is inexpensive and does not use much space. There is also the aspect of using the radio in a disaster zone, very useful for PSAs.
I think Xiaomi should use SD660 instead of SD625...because this MiMax 2 its a phablet...you can do multitasking with the bigger screen...for the sake of price...come on...
xiaomi always giving a smartphone cheap an power full
Leon 1959, 06 Jun 2017Does anyone knows if mi max 2 will have radio fm like mi max? It's not verified yet if the mi max 2 has FM radio. I hope it has FM radio like the original Mi Max. It's stupid for a smartphone not to have an FM radio even if not all users use it often (many still use it everyday, and prefer it to spotify or mp3 playback). It really becomes handy for real time local news broadcast and local music and programs which spotify and other music and news sites can never provide even with unlimited data plan. A smartphone without FM radio and IR blaster should not be called a smartphone. These two are essential features in addition to fingerprint, GPS/navigation/maps, internet access and essential apps like offline dictionary, offline Wikipedia, currency/units converter, ruler, mirror, calculator, language translator, bar code reader/qr reader, etc.
