zrx2112, 20 Jun 2018i have max 1 prime, great phone.. skipped on max 2 due to low performance.. now i have to skip... moreThere is no doubt that Mi Max prime is good with SD652, 4GB Ram and 128 GB internal. Mi Max2 is almost same as Max1 interms of performance. but SD625 is power efficient (14 nm) where SD650 is not power efficient (28 nm). Mi max3 is far far better than Mi Max1 interms of performance and power efficient (10 nm).
i have max 1 prime, great phone.. skipped on max 2 due to low performance.. now i have to skip on max 3 too (so-so performance w/max 1 prime) why is this happening? please please at least give SDM 660..
alca, 19 Jun 2018I wouldn't be so quick to rule out MIUI.

Sd636 has very similar performance as sd650/652 that were in the first max, but more power efficient I'm sure.
The screen will be longer and SMALLER than the previous max1&2. (yes 6.9inch 18:9 is smaller than 6.4inch 16:9)
Battery will be very nice @5500mAh. Thats where the max keeps it's meaning of "max".
So for you with very small hands. Congratulations. I will keep my max1 and wait for another phone. MIUI10 will be out in a month for the max1. Use miui.am rom for optimum battery and ram. Enjoy people.
sdm 636? my heart is shattered.. xiaomi, u lost many fans today. lets turn to other brands
well, sure its kind a dissapointment about SD 636, but if it will have camera quality minimum of Redmi note5, and competitive price, it`l be very interesting option to buy.
Its confirmed to get SD636 .Forget the Sd710 its not even getting a SD 660 model.Highly disappointed here.I
quit was quit happy with theSd710 rumours that was doing around lately but now very disappointed

Kiyasuriin, 18 Jun 2018Then grab the Mate 10. It has 16:9 and it's bezelless (avoid Pro or Lite)Thanks for the suggestion. I kind of like the screen around 6.4-6.9 inch 16:9. The old Huawei Mate even had a larger screen than the Mate 10 so I'll really be going in the wrong direction.
Huawei makes great stuff though. A bit heavy though.
I wish they could make an Honor Note 9 or 10, but with a 16:9 screen. The Note 8 is 6.6 inch, bit old and hardly bezelless.
Battle Hero, 17 Jun 2018Agree now is the age of stock android, skin UI are so yesterday and troublesomeI wouldn't be so quick to rule out MIUI.
I went from popular LineageOS 14.1 on my Mimax back to MIUI (specifically miui.am great ram+battery) and gained 35% more battery life. MIUI has an amazing built in app management that stock android can't rival.
China has some ridiculously nasty app practices so if a phone rom can handle China it will be good for the rest. LOL
My friend who is an engineer at xiaomi says that the xiaomi mi max 3 is going to be delayed until october because of a shortage of gpu chips.

Shrinking the bezels doesn't yield place for buttons.
And yeah, wireless charging+IP rating requires changing back. I believe it's hard (yet not impossible, look at iPhone 7 for example) to have Metal back that allows water resistance. But impossible to have wireless charging+metal back
I have the Mi Max 2. Awesome phone, great price, mega battery, fantastic screen and I love this phone more than my Galaxy S7. It has only 4 areas where they could improve the phone:
1. No IP rating - would be nice to have some water resistance
2. 4 Gb or Ram - I would like 6Gb
3. Huge bezels on top and bottom. Although I love the buttons on the bottom.
4. Wireless charging however this would get rid of the fantastic metal build.
