BlackAdder , 31 Oct 2016OK, a lot of phones have the mic down, under the edge, but where in the name oh me mighty have... morenot on the top man,
its beneath the screen, a Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology replaces the traditional earpiece speaker, allowing you to listen to calls without the earpiece through the screen.
also, Ultrasonic proximity sensor hidden behind the display, replaces traditional infrared proc sensor
would like to check that hidden speaker sound, would be great if its loud enough.
Looks like the Mi Mix will be available in the Philippines. They're already starting pre orders. Cant wait to buy. Thought its gonna be china only
Nice phone with awesome specs.
The speakers are piezoelectric and vibrates the metal frame of the phone, thus no need for a speaker hole on the top, while the bottom still holds the microphone.
If only they would sell it outside China tho.
OK, a lot of phones have the mic down, under the edge, but where in the name oh me mighty have they pplaced the speaker ? And if it`s up on the edge will it be easy to be heard by me ? Will it be heard by anyone on the street as someone talks to me ? Anyways i love this new style.
Good but not great. If you're going to make a high end phone why not go the whole way? This phone is using yesterdays OS. Why not use Android 7 or 7.1? Seems stupid to me. Also silent on IP68 means it is not there, big problem. No removable battery? Problem, I want to remove the battery in the event of a meltdown. No memory expansion is a NEGATIVE; I want to expand it at MY discretion not limited by the hardware. The screen res is also too low at 3XXppi. Many high-end phones are well over 500 ppi?! If you're going to make a high end phone, why only go half way? Stupid IMHO.
Banutu, 30 Oct 2016Lmfao, true, but remember, 400 bucks. But gsmarena list it as €550.
In short. An excellent high end Taphlet even without external memory card and USB version 3.1 !!Amazing specifications according to the gsmArena report!!!More on the comment after gsmArena review!Justice Rights.
PhoneN3rd, 26 Oct 2016Which carrier? Were you limited to HSPA?Not limited to anything...it is just like any other phone
I don't know... with a 5.2" screen a bezel-less phone makes sense, as it brings the size down to a 4.7" phone. With a screen this large you'll need two hands anyway and bezels are probably useful to help hold the phone. Maybe it was easier to make one this large ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
yucel, 30 Oct 2016Is anough the resolution of 362 ppi for such a high class phone ?
Unless you want to use VR, in which case all 1080p screens or less really suck, you still can't distinguish pixels.
For those talking about the Ceramic body strength, the Chinese are doing amazing stuff with the material. Here's one of those super thin Chinese ceramic knife's being dropped tested repeatedly:
