The Mi Max 3 is a 7" phone with the dimensions of 176.2 x 87.4 x 8 mm where as this phone has the dimensions of 154.4 x 72.3 x 10.4 mm. It is 15.1 mm smaller in width and is 21.8 mm shorter than it, making it a 6.4" phone.

Big disappointment - the great feature of the Mix series has been the near-complete range of LTE bands for worldwide usage, a traveller's delight.
Alas they have passed up that feature for gimmicky and useless waste of screen real-estate.
Xiaomi, bring out a Mi Mix 4, retaining (or enhancing) the existing Mix features with 5G capability, under-screen fingerprint reader and "virtual controls", then you will generate interest and sales.
