Xiaomi Android

A new Xiaomi smartphone has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking website. Dubbed Xiaomi Mix Evo, the device is powered by Qualcomm's MSM8998 (Snapdragon 835) chipset and has 4GB RAM.

The listing reveals that the handset runs Android Marshmallow version 6.0.1. Sadly, nothing else is currently known about the device, but given the name, it might be a variant of the Mi Mix. Also, the SoC confirms it's a high end phone.

Now that the phone has appeared in benchmarks, we expect to hear more about it in days (or probably weeks) to come.

A two core only kryo (the original, not the a7x derivative) might be able to reach 3GHz with the new process, but the IPC/W for that arch still wouldn't be great. That's how we know the new kryo 280 is a completely different arch (by looking at the s...

Technically, shouldn't be an issue since 10nm is here already. And of course those cores will not run at max frequency all the time.
