And the k1 kicks tegra 3 ass!!! So the answer is go with the k1
With hands on experience i can definitely tell you this is a great tablet especially when you consider the price. Not only is the hardware up to scratch especially that K1 and the gorgeous screen, the interface is snappy clean and responsive. I too thought maybe the build quality would be a bit on the bad side, turns out to be sturdy enough to handle me and I'm pretty damn clumsy. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the glossy white plastic but as long as design doesn't get in the way of functionality its all good with me.
Xiaomi have had no problems admitting they have used ideas from other company's nothing is ever original and i never saw a problem on working off other designs. At least there copying quality devices calling it copying outright is a stretch, yeah okay the aesthetics have similarities but what tablets don't, they all pretty much share similar aesthetics but what about the UI, hardware, manufactures software which lets be honest can make or break a phone regardless of specs. Take HTC sense or Samsung TouchWiz etc. you can go out and by two phones from competitors with pm same specs and both rocking android, you need more than aesthetics of the phone to separate them. Anyway before i carry on rambling, its a good device I suggest to pick one up it wont set you back too much even when it comes to the west i don't imagine the prices to go much steeper

The xiaomi mi pad is just a tablet that copied from every single successful mobile device manufactor. Look close and you will see Apple htc and samsung. Hardware is also an issue. The quality is just disasterous. Just don't even think about buying it! Trust me. I don't want to see another victim of xiaomi'a junk product!
When will it come to Malaysia? Please hurry up before I change my mind...
if xiaomi going to launch another version of MiPad 7.9 with supporting GPS and 3G (can insert sim card), definitely i will buy this device.
