Xiaomi Mix Flip may launch internationally

Xiaomi Android Rumors

Xiaomi has gatekept its book-style foldable line for years, only offering it officially in China, but things may thankfully be very different when it comes to its first flip-style foldable device, widely believed to be called Xiaomi Mix Flip.

We already know this is coming later this year, and now there's reason to hope it will launch globally and won't be confined to China like the Mix Fold line.

Xiaomi Mix Flip may be available globally

The Mix Flip's global model number has been spotted in the GSMA's IMEI database - 2405CPX3DG. The "G" at the end stands for "global" and is only assigned for - you guessed it - models that will get sold outside of China. For reference, note that the Mix Flip for the Chinese market got certified for sale over there with the model number 2405CPX3DC, where the "C" at the end stands for China.

The Mix Flip should be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, and will have a 50 MP main camera with a 1/1.55" sensor size and OIS, a 60 MP 2x telephoto with 1/2.8" sensor size, and a 12 MP ultrawide.

It's expected to be announced between July and September, and thus, with the global availability, it should compete head-on with Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Flip6, which is launching in July.

Because it's not the main selling point and they can milk it for another decade with only minor improvements each year. Look we have a new processor (slightly overclocked previous gen) and new camera (same deal) and new colours plus a bigger b...

That sucks. I'd take 100% tariffs over that lame protectionist policy. 🫢
