As a first time user of xiaomi phones im starting to appreciate this tip more and more :) just looking forward to mui 12.5 though..hoping its going to bring major upgrades

That's also why sometimes only some user experience the problem while others don't.
I only update my phone if:
1. The update brings a specific feature I want. For example, Android 10 brought internal sound recording feature. Otherwise, Android 8 & 10 are practically same to me.
2. The update specifically mentions in its "Change log" that it'll fix a certain problem that *I'm facing*.

For settings, I usually spend like 30+ minutes every time I buy a phone to set them properly - so I can't specifically write it down as I don't remember. My Poco X3 loses 50% battery in about 7 hours of continuous use - if I make it 60Hz. But I love its smoothness at 120Hz, so I keep it at that.
You should follow 1 generic rule for settings. Don't turn on/allow anything that'll require any "activity" to take place. On the contrary, disable things that are performing activities you don't need as well.
For example, I turned off face recognition, different kinds of scannings (Google Play Protect is also scanning process if you think about it), never log into Xiaomi account, some sync tasks & unnecessary/trivial AI processes and such.
You can also enable Developers Options & Disable App Monitoring. Also lower animation scales to make UI faster.

I want to know that as i've commented here on the forum before about my stuttering experience and slow animations of poco x3 nfc after around 2 weeks of use. So i have decided to factory reset the device for the first time since i bought it..Can anyone here recommend which settings to keep off and which to keep on which might had make my device behave like this when the shopkeeper set it up for me. Also will factory resetting flash the ram of my device as well? Will i still get to keep the mui 12.7 which i currently have on my x3. I'm using the global variant, 6/128..thanks

My phone's battery drops to 98% without any uses. Also, I have read reviews where people say their phone reaches 50% at around 6-7 hours. But mine drops to 30% with just 4-5 hours of browsing and youtube at 50% brightness.
At what percentage is it better to charge the phone?
Can anyone tell me what is the average hours of battery and how to stop the battery drain without any uses?
My phone is just 1 week old btw.

Bro, 08 Feb 2021The refresh rate is nothing. It's feels like any other phone.I fully agree. I have the poco x3 since 3 months and I bought the Tecno Pova ( 60 hertz )2 weeks ago it is way much smoother than the poco on both 60 and 120hz Like there is some "stuttering " when scrolling no smoothness at all.

Performance:
Performance wise, it's amazing. I'm a heavy user who multiple apps & plays some games, but has never lagged.
Display smoothness is as you'd expect from 120Hz (extremely smooth). It further makes its performance "appear" better.
You don't have to worry about poor performance in 2 years, as it's giving me 60FPS on High Graphics of PUBG with Shadows. Which means, it's very powerful.
Just avoid software updates unless necessary, because updates bring bugs & problems - which can lower performance, battery and even make camera worse.
For multitasking, it has only closed 1 background app so far in my experience. So it's fine as well.
Xiaomi phones are aggressive at closing apps, so it depends on how much multitasking do you personally do - and how heavy is each of the app involved (like too many browser pages will make it heavy).
So I'd say it's good, but not the best phone for multitasking.
Battery:
Battery back up is pretty good. If you use:
- 60Hz screen Refresh Rate
- 25%-50% Brightness
- Normal apps (Facebook, Browser, Video Player, Music Player, WhatsApp, Messenger, Downloads, little bit Camera but not too much)
- Don't enable too many Xiaomi features in settings (like I haven't)
- Wired Earphones
Then it'll drain 50% battery in about 7 hours of continuous usage. *This is my honest & personally tested battery review.*
But if you use 120Hz refresh rate, then it'll drain faster. But it'll still be good enough.
Also, battery is not an issue for me personally as it charges 0-100% in just 1 hour.
Today, I warmed up food from fridge & by the time I finished eating it, its battery charged from 30% to 70% already.
Durability:
I saw its drop test on a concrete footpath along with other phone from Samsung, Realme & I think Huawei.
He dropped each phone multiple times without cover & Poco X3 was the only phone whose display didn't break. Also note that Poco X3 was Indian variant which is heavier than Global/NFC variant.
Only its back camera glass broke, and that's why I recommend buying a new/special cover for it that protects its camera glass properly.
It has official dust & water/splash proof certification.
Which is reassuring for long term use - but don't test it, still protect it!!!
However, it didn't do as good as some other phones I've seen in "bend test". So avoid folding/twisting/pressing your phone.
But again, that bend test was performed on Indian variant which has plastic frame. Our Pakistani/Global/NFC variant has Aluminum frame which should make it little stronger than Indian variant.
You can find the test I'm talking about on YouTube. It's done by "Gupta Information System" channel.
Camera:
It's important to understand that there are different kinds of cameras, and what kind of camera do you personally want for yourself.
For example:
- Oppo has very good & realistic beautification effect which has earned it the title of "Selfie King".
- Some cameras are better in low light, but usually aren't as good as other phones in daylight due to high level of sharpness. High sharpness is also bad for capturing faces, as it can make your skin appear to have big open pores even if you don't.
- Some phones are better for capturing details, like Pixels. But too much detail is not ideal for selfie cameras, as most people don't want their pimples & flaws to be too noticeable.
- Softness (opposite of sharpness) in selfie camera fixes both issues of too much detail & high sharpness. It can be implemented with the help of app called "Gcam".
About Poco X3 Camera.
1. It keeps noise very low even in low light (pixel ni phat'te) for both pictures & videos (including for 4K videos with only 12W bulb at night - except for 4K from ultra wide camera).
This makes its pictures & videos appear much clearer than most phones.
It's better than Samsung Galaxy A51, Galaxy A50 and Realme 6 Pro.
- Selfie camera has a bit of noise in low light conditions, but is still overall better than Samsung Galaxy A51, A50 & Realme 6 Pro.
- Using a suitable "Gcam" with right settings will fix this problem (adjust Luma & Chroma Denoise in Lib Patcher).
Key Note: "Suitable" & "Right Settings".
2. Details are good even in low light, for both pictures & videos. Which is impressive, because usually cameras with lower noise offer very low details (because removing noise also removes details).
- Detail levels in stock app is already comparable to Gcam of some other phones I've used. It's highly optimized.
3. It balances out shadows & highlights nicely (dynamic range) even in low light, for both pictures & videos.
4. Colours are slightly over-saturated like all Xiaomi phones. This is its biggest or perhaps only downside as far as my personal camera preferences are concerned.
- This is sometimes good (especially for food, objects, animals, lowlight conditions & sceneries) and sometimes but-not-always-bad (for faces - as in certain lighting, it can make your skin appear more brown than it actually is).
- Gcam will fix this issue as well (adjust Saturation in Lib Patcher, try Nexus 6P/Pixel 2/2XL in Base & also change Config in Base).
5. Sharpness isn't as high as Redmi Note 8 Pro, but still a little bit higher than it should be.
- Its sharpness is acceptable for most kinds of pictures (considering its lowlight quality), but it sometimes over-sharpens the skin which can make your face appear to have open pores - even if you don't.
- Note: Skin pores issue happens with Selfie Camera. Back Camera doesn't cause this, probably because people are usually 4 feet away from camera.
- Gcam will fix this issue (adjust Sharpness & Sharp Depth in Lib Patcher).
6. As for video recording, this is first time in Pakistan that a phone in this price has offered such useful video recording features.
i) It records good quality stabilise 4K videos, even in lowlight.
It's the only phone under 50k that offers stabilised 4K videos, and that too in good quality - which is already uncommon in this price.
ii) It records stabilised 4K videos from ultra wide camera.
It's the only phone under 63k to offer this.
iii) It records stabilised 1080p@30FPS videos from ultra wide camera.
It's the only phone under 55k to offer this.
iv) It records stabilised 1080p@60FPS videos from main camera.
It's the only phone that offers this under 63k to offer this.
v) In slowmo, it offers 1080p@120FPS & 720p@120/240/960FPS.
Not sure how this compares to other phones.
vi) It also offers some interesting features, like maintaining focus on a single moving target/person. There are some others as well, but I haven't tried most of them.
7. The camera sensors used in this phone haven't been used in any flagship phone, according to a YouTuber. Which doesn't sound good, but given its camera performance, I don't think it matters much.
8. It balances Shadows & Highlights very nicely (dynamic range & detail in shadows) for both pictures & videos.
In pictures, it slightly exposes your face to highlight it. Which is also good.
Conclusion:
Its camera is overall among best, if not the best in price.
It's not the best for beautification of faces. As there are definitely some issues - especially concerning sharpness & saturation that can 'sometimes' make faces look a little bad.
But all of its issues can be easily fixed by using a good Gcam.

Massive gaming maximum for 4+ hours
Performance : Multiple apps running but not really lagging due to 6GB ram and a great CPU
Camera : Not a professionalist, but looking good for the photos
Display : 120hz doesn't run on games, but don't really expect so much on a Snapdragon 732G, it's totally enough for Facebook, Instagram and social media apps, not for YouTube.
Audio :
Weight : 200g+ might be heavy for you , especially when it hits your face, but still ok for bringing it as usual.
Charging Speed : 33W does help a lot, the average charging time 70-80 minutes, unlike what the advertisement claims, but still ok
Just one thing, if you usually use mobile network to use YouTube or social media apps, it might affect the speed
But just connect to WiFi if neccessary
I will give it a 8/10 for this price
Don't really expect it's as good as flagship phones, it's a budget phone.

I have been using this phone for some weeks now and am actually surprised how well it performs. I mean especially after some negative reviews by some users. This phone doesn't feel like it's price suggest. It works flawlessly and meui is not perfect but it actually implements some stuff in a way I love it. My only complain is that, I wish the screen could be brighter on direct sunlight. But once u learn to live with that, it's on heck of a phone and I love it
