When i put JIO sim in REDMI 2 PRIME , its not showing any signal.
How y... more1st make sure to only put one sim, the Jio sim in slot 1. Go to settings, sim cards, tap on sim 1, preferred network type, and select Prefer LTE. You should see a network now. If not, maybe the coverage in your area is bad. Try standing near a tower! :-p
Next, in the same sim 1, tap on Access point names and tap on Internet - Jionet so that it becomes Orange colour.
Now go back to Settings, Sim cards and at the bottom, under Default Settings, set Internet to 1 Jio 4g.
Also enable VoLTE in the same page.
Once you've got a signal and can connect to voice and data, you can insert a 2nd sim if needed. But be aware that if you change the default (internet) sim to another sim, you may lose network on both sims. You will need to remove both sims and insert only one sim first, basically following the whole above procedure till it works again. Not sure if this is a bug with the Jio sim or the Redmi.

Ok people, the redmi 2 and prime supports Reliance Jio but there's a catch.
1. you have to be updated to a lollipop based (android 5.x.x) miui rom to use VoLTE, i.e to make native voice calls on Jio's 4g-only network. Without VoLTE support in the rom, you will need to use an app called Jio Join which makes the call using the 4g data connection.
2. The redmi 2 and prime lacks LTE band 5 (850 mHz) which means that in low coverage areas, when the phone switches to band 5 to get better reception, the redmi 2 will be unable to and will only switch down to band 3 (1800 mHz). So the reception in a poor network area will not be as good as in a phone which has band 5.
It works perfectly fine making calls and using data, and also all the Jio apps like play and on-demand work well. I've seen speeds up to 20mbps in good coverage areas on band 40 (2300mHz).
