Siv_kishore, 21 Jul 2018Redmi 5Redmi 5. Just bought this for US $95 with free shipping. Design is really nice. 5.7 inch display, fingerprint scanner at the back. Display is only at 720p but it has really great quality. Screen time is also long. The only disappointing is its rear cam. Quite blurry for 12mp. Front cam seems to have built in filter.

Yes, a good phone indeed. But for those who plan to buy please get the 3/32 version and you will not regret. Money well spent. Xiaomi is not famous for cheap phones but its the cheap phones that make xiaomi famous
i bought this phone and it is super fast i used it very very heavy using but no lags or heating it is a great phone
Bought this, MY version from RM440 for the purpose as second phone. Had a doubt at first but after using it for just 1 day, i realised i make a very excellent decision. after using it for 2 weeks, what make me feel impressed with this phone is it has big screens, suitable for me to watch movie or drama using mobile phone, as my primary phone is iphone6s, the battery is surprisingly perform like no 3310, it can last for 3 days although i watch movie or drama at night and with minimum use at daylight, screen is very good, the speed of ui is slick, never had lag and with this cheap price, i said worth a lot. The only negative maybe its camera but its perform maybe as expected if not better for the price range. 9.9/10 superb. Now i know why some people prefer xiaomi. Class!
Perfect phone unless you wear sunglasses with polaroid filter. Then you see nothing on the display (why the hell 45° polarization was not used???) in portrait mode, so you are forced to use the phone in landscape mode. But the system launcher and system apps are always portrait. Try to find a contact and make a call!!!
Just new the 2/16 GB global edition. I can't use the 2 sims WITH the memory card, are very thick. Any official idea? Thank you
IGNITEGREEN, 06 Jul 2018Bought my Redmi 5 (2GB / 16GB; Black) on 6 July 2018.
Paid MYR 459 from official dealer, 1 ... moreGood to know that.
More usage review please . Call. Navigation. Music. Etc. Thanks. By the way why not get the 3/32 instead? Only less than Rm100 difference right?
Bought my Redmi 5 (2GB / 16GB; Black) on 6 July 2018.
Paid MYR 459 from official dealer, 1 year local Malaysia warranty (US$ 113.66). Bargain.
Very impressed with the build quality, the screen is excellent with good contrast and brightness, very sharp despite "only" HD+ resolution.
Slim, light, looks slick in black. Updated to MIUI 9.6 then installed Microsoft Launcher - handles 6x8 very nicely, smallest icon size in launcher settings. Set to high performance mode and turned off all animations in Developer Options in Settings. Very slick and speedy now. Impressed with the SD 450 CPU. Memory management is very good, not noticeable that only 2GB RAM. Only thing I've remarked is slightly slow eMMC read times.
After latest MIUI update, turned on Full Screen gesture controls, which hides the normal bottom navigation controls, freeing up a good amount of screen real estate.
Thus far delighted with the handset. Good battery life, but takes over 2 hours to charge fully (no fast charging) with the provided 2A adaptor.
Not run any benchmarks yet, but it's definitely speedier and slicker than my aging OnePlus X!
Surprised by how good the camera is, even got excellent low light shots - despite what the reviews say.
At this price frankly you can't go wrong and I'm delighted with my choice. Recommended.
redmi destroyed the phone with th last update....lags all time...speaker get closed by itself while making a call.... performance is very very slow....it was a great phone...what a shame
this phone worth he's money for 135 euro for that price this phone is best
