Thanks for the tip! I´m still using the same old 7A phone partly because i like the size compared to the current trend of screen size wars and mainly because it still does perfectly what i need it to do(i´m not a gadget freak/snob). I did some cleaning and the phone became faster hopefully the old battery improves as well

unlock bootloader
1. install orange fox
2. download custom ROM of your choice
3. move it to internal storage
4. flash it.

i saw several tutorials but all says different ways to flash CFW.
I'm now on MIUI official 12.5.2 (bootloader is unlocked but with no recovery).

In fact I keep track of custom ROMs.
I had used my Moto g3 from 2015 till 2022 December. Since screen broke up, I decided to discard the phone.
Next in line is Redmi 7a and Mi A1.

But now it's getting sluggish. Understanding it&... moreAgree, my 7A is 3 years old too and has been used on a daily basis, its my only phone.
It has been very reliable and even the battery(original) is still coping fairly well, used to manage 2 days on a charge, now max 1/1.5 day.
My phone became slow too, and it happened only recently, i haven't updated the MIUI since the last 12.5 but something has updated slowed the phone.
Was considering buying the Redmi 10C but decided to stick with my reliable 7A until it dies.
Very good phone for 67€ that i paid for it back in 2020.

It is 3.5 years now that I am using 7A.
But now it's getting sluggish. Understanding it's limitations, I have used it as a work phone ( just calls, WhatsApp and emails). But since last January, it has become very slow.
But I will say it was a very good phone for the price. Compact and easy. Hard to find such phones now.
If possible I may install custom ROM on this one and buy a new phone for my work.

M4R3Ksom, 13 Feb 2023I have Redmi 7A and Redmi 9A in my possesion at the moment and after comparing them for a day ... moreIf I remember correctly, the Redmi 9A is capped to 32-bit by the operating system, and the 7A is 64-bit, so yeah. Makes a huge difference. This basically means that the 9A could have been faster than the 7A, but only if it was 64-bit.
