Anonymous, 09 Nov 2020not true its real 5000mah battery thats why this phone is heavy 198g... my samsung s10 weighs ... moreDon't forget that your S10 has a glass back which adds a lot of weight while the Redmi 9 is plastic. Battery and the hardware also plays a part in weight.

So, this phone is a bang for your buck - looking at the specs, a FHD screen, 5020mAh battery at a 9.1 mm thickness, a quad camera setup, pretty nice screen size paired with the bezels that are pretty thin for a entry-level phone, Android 10, and a microSD card slot. How is it in irl? Well as always, MIUI 11 with them ads. Its not a downgrade, but there r scams in the ads. The screen is usable in sunny days, given the 400 nits. Cameras are a meh, below average but good enough at this price. Battery lasted 2 days with casual use. Charging is average, which is good cuz entry phones don't have good charging (10 watts, 5 watts) but it comes with a 10 watt charger tho, can't complain for a phone priced like this. Performance is good enough, a G80 can handle pubg at low settings with 4GB ram. i recommend the 4GB ram, 3gb is just out the window. overall, 8/10 for this price range

It's quite good considering its features, chipset & FHD display. But it lacks Gyro sensor needed to play VR games.
Go for 4GB RAM version if you buy it for games. 3GB version users are complaining about lag.

And Is it splash pr... moreStock Camera isn't good. But if you install Gcam/Google Camera on it, then it can be quite good.
Not sure about Fortnite, but other games run good. Just make sure you buy 4GB version or it'll lag in games.
Phones in this range aren't water proof, so I'd say it's splash proof.

OK, I've bought my Redmi 9 in 08/2020 and to date I didn't experience any of issues you're talking about. Screen is not readable outside in cloudless sunny day - if you set the brightness to low. But with brightness set to full you can use Redmi outside without any problems. First thing I did is to turn off all updates. Yes, I did it, because from my experience, these updates mainly take up valuable memory space and slowly render your device to became slower. When turning off updates, I didn't experience any of the issues Google and manufacturers are talking about, and all my phones did work well for about 6-7 years, until hardware problems occured, like dead battery, or something. For now, my Redmi 9 works even better than expected for this price range, and I hope, it'll serve me well in a couple of years, just like other phones I've had.
