I'm using this phone as my daily driver. I'm actually okay with it. I have not experienced any lag when playing mobile games on it (MMORPG and MOBA). Just made sure that game settings should be on low or medium graphics.
Productivity and social media apps also work well with this device.
I love it. This could be my primary phone until next year,

In the most basic version (3GB RAM/32GB ROM) if you select the option to add extra memory using part of the ROM, it improves somewhat but the main problem is MIUI. Even if it has some nice features it's too bloated even after removing unnecessary stuff safe to get rid of using ADB, which has the benefit of causing it to go quite smoothly most of the times with the only crashes being when using memory intensive apps as Google Camera ports in Astrophotography mode, and has a memory management too aggressive even if all you have opened in the background are lightweight apps.
It would probably benefit a lot with a custom ROM.

I had this for about 11 months. I used the 32/3 version. It lagged, froze randomly, restarting it by holding the power button for 10 seconds was common, ran out of space, ads everywhere, begged to update when there was no space. If you only watch YouTube and use some messaging app, this might be decent. Display looks pretty clear. Camera is ok and battery lasts a whole day. Overall bullshit

I like Xiaomi but this phone is terrible, slow, can't multitask as it refreshes the app when you go back in. I couldn't even list an autotrader listing because it kept being unresponsive. Basically an unusable phone. Not tried third party OS but if it sorts problems out good cheap phone with decent screen and battery

I have this phone for 2 years now and I played a lot of PS2 games using it like Smackdown here comes the pain. So happy to play most of the best offline games for a cheap price.

Known bug which never gets fixed: when going to Storage settings, the settings crash. Can't setup SD card because of that.

I have been using Xiao Mi for one year . Suddenly , my handphone hang and turned into black out.I sent my handphone to the service center to repair . On the next day , I receive a message from service center that my handphone couldn't be repaired due to PBA motherboard issue . This is the first time I experienced a bad quality of Xiao Mi product.I have been using other phones such as Vivo , Hua Wei and Samsung and I didn't face this kind of issue at all in my life .

Since f... moremy redmi 9 never had problems never crashed never slowed down i own it since like launch, updated to miui 12.5.5 and it works very good,never had any problem with it, i have droped it hard 10s of times and its like new, its fast cheap battery lasts 1-5 days, main 13mp camera has an actually very good lens the 8mp wide is eh and the others ok

People, be very careful with this company! I had once one phone redmi, my big mistake. Since first day of using it I had problems. The music was stopping all the time, most of the times I could not open the internet sites, also during every phone call silent mode was switching on by itself, so a person I was talking to couldn't hear me. After two months of this nightmare this shit had stopped being charging at all. The worst phone I've ever had! If you want to risk by getting it, it's ur responsibility.
