Honestly, the slowest phone I've ever had, apps are constantly lagging and closing, it doesn't even have an NFC for contactless payment. It also doesn't have enough storage; one of the only highlights is its battery life. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're on a strict budget, but even then, I would suggest you just save up and buy anything else.

HOW TO FIX THIS PHONE:
Back up your data. Install Shizuku/Canta. Remove all the recommended apps you don't need. Also, Security-> Gears-> Boost Speed-> Lock Apps. Check any app you want running in the background, uncheck the others. Also, switch off auto update apps, and roll back all system apps to original versions. Also, develop a habit of force closing apps using the menu and X buttons. Also, App Ops for permissions and notifications. Do all the above, and most of the specs are good for a phone at this very low price. The battery is great. HOWEVER, without the above hacks, the 9AT is barely functional. 2GB RAM isn't enough for Android 11, MIUI 12.5, and Xiaomi bloat. It just grinds to a halt. Lag, lag, and more lag. You'll want to throw it against the nearest wall. The most lag since my HTC Wildfire back in 2010, also a case of way too little RAM.

Still working after 3 years. Good for price. Camera should be better. Those of you who say the storage is low, try cleaning the cache on each app in app settings.

this phone is bad. I own it and have had it for the past 2 years and am constantly wanting to throw it against a wall by how slow it is. As a person with ADHD, i find the speed incredibly frustraiting and the fact that I have to wait so long just for the screen to rotate? And not to mention, when you restart youe phone -in my case, because it was slow- it takes so long just for it to restart. Im also being kicked off of apps and struggle with opening them as Im constantly kicked and i know its to do with the phone, because if i were to use my laptop, computer or even tablet, it opens normally. So far, Im disappointed with Xiaomi and would NOT recommend buying this product. Therefore, im planning on swapping toma Google Pixel 8, seeming as it is more up to my speed and wont be frustraiting.

Why being a cheapskate just to get headaches from spending so much time waiting for apps to load, rotate, and everything else? Let's do ourselves a favor and never buy bad devices. If we can't a afford current year's flagship devices, let's just get last year's (or older) flagship device of that year. If you need a phone to only call and send sms, don't buy a touchscreen... it will prevent frustration in most cases depending which one you bought cause even in the non-touchscreen section, there are bad ones that are slow and should be avoided.

Well, I've used this for over a year and it just keeps getting worse. From apps deleting themselves and the phone forgetting what I set my wallpaper to. I'd recommend spending that but extra on a phone that is actually good. Play store was a complete fault as of 2 months and since then Google, WhatsApp and Gallery has completely stopped, making it a pointless contraption. Do not buy this phone, it is so slow and takes multiple taps just to start what you want it to do. It's an ugly make and don't show it to friends... you'll get bullied for it. Consequently, there is no matchable phone case anywhere near my area and I'm wondering if they ever made one. Lucky it's 2 days until Christmas or I'd be suffering for a while longer. Please listen to this or have pain the same.

I joined to see if it was just my phone that is slow, but apparently it is just normal for this. It's a terrible phone, and I am going to replace asap, with something a little more useful. as for this on- I might just give a right royal send off ultimateley, as i wouldn't wish it on anyone else.

Awful phone. Bought it in an emergency in Tesco 6 months ago. Paid a rip-off price of 130 Euros and I am finally replacing it today. Slow, sluggish from day one, but now it can't even handle 'Maps' with nothing else running. Quite possible I got a dud, but my experience was terrible.

I would recommend this phone to everyone. The phone has nice features and the battery too is excellent.
