Should have been this processor...
Memory too low...
at 2019 and still using this and that.....

They are targeting people in rural areas, people who have limited budgets to spend on smartphones. This is brilliant from a marketing perspective. Oppo and Vivo, have a lot of physical stores in my country, you name it, malls, kiosks, they have a presence. But their products are not priced competitively, unlike xiaomi. Heck, they don't even have an android go phone. They may have physical stores that reach the provinces, but can the people from the provinces buy an oppo or a vivo? enter the redmi go.

Also, the target of this is not your typical working class employee, this is targeted at people who live in rural areas, who are switching from a feature (basic) phone to their first smart phone.

People from rural areas, the provinces, who are buying their first smartphone, coming from a feature phone.
This is another smart move from Xiaomi. This market is largely untapped. Expect them to sell a lot of these.

They said ½ GB of ram is enough to run a phone with Android GO. But you may not install any app larger than 20mb of size.

For me this SD425 is to old to been used in 2019 smartphone. There is plenty SD4XX series Xiaomi can used for this phone like SD427, SD429, SD430, SD435 but why must use SD425 why not use newer chipset like SD429 ? To me because Xiaomi already buy this chipset in bulks like they did with SD625. I bet not just SD425 been reused this year but also the SD625.

Probably people who are just starting to use smart phones, changing from a feature phone to a smart phone. It's not really for the regular people who work in offices and work in cities.
Hence the specs of 1gb ram and a skinned version of android.

They should've used sd 429 with 4.5 inch, 480 x 960 display. It would've been a killer combo
