Xiaomi Redmi Android

The Redmi K40 Gaming will be powered by the Dimensity 1200, when it launches next week. Despite being part of an already established lineup, it will be essentially a new handset with new cameras, design and other hardware features.

One of them are shoulder keys for gaming, which will pop up from the side once a slider is pulled. Here’s a neat video by Redmi, explaining how this works.

The brand says the keys are so good for clicking, they can even be used as fidget toys when the user is not gaming. They deliver a crisp sound every time they is pressed and closes with a magnet, providing much better feedback than existing solutions.

According to the post on Weibo, the shoulders are extremely durable, and they were clicked 1.5 million times without fault. Thanks to the close-ups in the video, we can also see the frame will be metal, as well as the actual shoulders, while the back panel appears to be made out of glass, which would enable wireless fast charging.
