have this phone for over 2 years now. I think the updates just makes it lag more. tried to format but looks like I need to get a new phone.

Buying this phone is among the worst decisions I have ever made in life. I have had phones with lesser specs than Redmi Note 12 and i'd choose them any day over this particular model. The damn thing isn't user friendly at all. It lags, overheats, and 2 years later, one can't still navigate properly around it (even searching for a mere document file).
One day during texting, you are able to choose which sim card to text with...the next day you can't because it "dictates" which default sim card you will use. You can't take good pic in a slightly dimly lit room. So many flaws this piece of s#!@* has.

Camera is trash, audio is good, pretty good performance, ui feels smooth, overall, an ok phone.

Anonymous, 05 Jan 2025I've had this phone for over a year and I really don't understand the mostly negativ... moreyou should be a collage student then , be a student and you can feel the phone being laggy and heat up. being in WhatsApp is pretty horrible, sending videos for more than 108mb isn't compatible, this phone has some limits. and taking pictures might look okay , but if you're a student its a no... because the 48mp is decent but the colours are sometimes washed out and blurred if you're in a rush on taking a picture, and recording something in tiktok or WhatsApp is only limited to 20fps which looked very bad. and i know you might sound like you're correct but making documents on this phone isn't that great at all. if the sentence gets too long the phone will glitched and crash, and mine heats up more even tho its only a gallery or WhatsApp. i strongly not recommend this phone for collage students not any business people

I've had this phone for over a year and I really don't understand the mostly negative comments about it. I suspect they're from younger users who are gamers. People if youre a mature adult and you use it for communicating and playing the odd game and taking pictures, then it's brilliant for the price. It certainly doesn't lag or overheat. Being retired I spend a large part of the day on the phone reading news items, attending to emails and having comms and it hasn't let me down once. My advice....ignore the boffins. This phone is very good value for money

Can't say its so bad, at least 8/256 variant works great. Using it for more than a year.
Yet CPU/GPU are slow and not meant for gaming but casual games work fine.
Camera is bad tho. Its mostly because of software. All four cameras are terrible quality.
Athought MIUI/HyperOS is a terrible shell in general, the phone itself works okay.
No overheating, no freezing, etc. It takes some efforts to remove all the annoying ads from the interface and its irritating but then it becomes usable.
Yes, its not very fast in general but it works smooth enough and does it job.
The display is great!
Dont buy less than 8 GB anyway. Find something else.

This phone is trash,I bought it 160,000 naira I have not even installed anything, lagging is annoying to pick a call is very stressful and annoying opening camera takes 20 seconds once you are online for some hours it will start to lag as if you are playing GTA 5 on it, useless phone

This phone sucks. Camera is trash and perfomance ain't good as well. Been a year owning this phone. Even a 2013/2014 phone is better.

I regret buying this phone, I used it for 1 year, am usually very careful with handling my phones, this phone just started restarting then went black an cannot turn on, after taking it to care center they are very useless. Am done with Xiaomi.
