After updating my Redmi Note 13 5G, the camera has become so bad that the picture quality is worse than even a 5k phone. I don't know when the Redmi update will start working.

My mother has had this phone for 2 years. It used to be good until it updated to HyperOS... that has REALLY ruined it. Somehow the Note 12 Pro+ 5G from a year before ALSO on HyperOS is better than this garbage :/ I have another one of these on MIUI 14 and the difference in performance is ABISMAL. Are they purposefully making them worse???

i main it for almost 2 years, final verdict? please do not buy this phone, like its good for 7-8 months and then the performance is starting to slow down, after 1 year and some months it struggles opening simple apps like whatsapp, tiktok, etc, you gotta restart it 10 times a day fot it in order to be a normal smartphone

Hyperos 2.0.208 breaks HyperOS launcher, sometimes causing apps to reload on the home screen, if you're facing this issue, report to Xiaomi ASAP! We can't have poor quality updates come out just to fix bugs!

My device is on 2.203 hyper os update, battery remains adequate, animations on opening and closing apps are coming back, camera quality has improved and no heating issues on recording videos on the back camera. Mind you I use low power mode on my device and a iOS 26 theme with gesture controls and a reworked dpi so it is way smoother than vanilla

Xiaomi: oh, you want comfort? Get your ass kicked. We make sure the phone is Maximally uncomfortable. Pictures will be saved in columns for days at a time. You want to grab all the pictures to move or delete? Fuck you, asshole. Oh, we'll also make all your tabs disappear, by the way. All of them. At best, we'll move all your tabs to another tab in a very inconvenient way. It's gonna be maximally inconvenient, trust me. And we might even delete the tabs altogether, even though we need all of them. Oh, you really needed them? Oops, most of the tabs were important, maybe related to work or school and all really needed? Oh ah dear, we will kill your future easily. Just because you chose a Xiaomi.
And anyway, the Chinese guys are apparently too angry at the Europeans and are taking revenge this way :)

The Redmi Note 13 does indeed support an FM radio. To use it, the earphones need to.be plugged in.

My phone is now on HOS 2.0.80 battery life has been very good so far even with AOD on...mind you i use lite mode so my screen is easier to navigate, storage is also efficient. Love my Redmi Note 13 5G so far...reliable trusty device.

Battery life is better on 2.0.70, the rest is business as usual, main camera app does a decent job... But i find the opencamera app to result in better pictures (much more natural) screen is lag-free and is now better on 60hz, no stuttering like in Hos 2.0.50

So far so good. But the fingerprint sensor is terrible, failure rate is high, it is like the fingerprint sensor in samsung phone 10 years ago, but this one is even worst. In rare cases, the phone doesn't even recognize the it has a fingerprint sensor at all.

PLEASE don't buy this phone. There is a way better counterpart with the same price, and sometimes even cheaper. Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G is better. It supports 60FPS recording, has a Macro camera, faster charger of 67W, and slightly better performance.

It is a good smartphone overall but considering its price in 2025 it is not worth to buy this model now. The camera is not upto the mark but overall it is a decent mobile. I have used this for one year and haven't got a single greenline issue so far as we get to see in other brand smartphones.

ab, 03 Jun 2025How is a battery life, with Android 15 and HyperOS 2?On HyperOS 2.0.6.0, the battery life is good. As long as you are using this phone for texting, social media, etc. the battery should last you 8-9 hours assuming you charged your phone to 100%.
