With such low price, actually nothing can be compared about, but it is a proper usable budget phone, which still has OS updates until today. For me, it is a lag free experience on this phone (actually much faster or equally fast with comparable high end phone). Only big issue is the poor battery life.
Well, despite of poor battery life, still work well till today.
Great little smartphone for backup purpose.
Get used to powerbank and always find charger for charging.
Installed in car charger for charging convenience.

Nothing can be done, upgrade to Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is the only choice, that phone has much longer battery life, with a very power saving processor, and a moderate performance to match.
If don't want to upgrade, buy spare battery or power bank seems is the only solution.

Before format, try backup those stuff in the card to computer.
Redmi Note 2 actually supports 64GB external class 10 SD card. Just make sure the card is successfully FAT32 formatted and it can be recognized by the phone. As Win7 can't do the FAT32 trick, try some freeware.
Xiaomi redmi note 2 very problem the battery, is going very fast...?and the update of different things will use miu versions ?
I bought xiaomi redmi note2 in August 2015 and the first one I used one day and all of buttons doesn't work or the touch screen doesn't work and I changed The second one is working normally, but the battery isn't true like is displayed, is going very fast. Without internet is working 6 hours, and if using not to much internet work 3 hours. Is ot normally for a battery 3060 mha.I can't not compare with another smartphone because I can't.

I would say, Xiaomi only prioritize software update on Mi series, not Redmi series. Mi Max/ Mi Max 2 is a good start for you. Or you can buy the more expensive Mi5s Plus.
Say whatever you dislike, this phone is passable as secondary phone. The only main problem would be the very mediocre battery life, which really doesn't lasted a day on normal usage. Other than that, other aspect is quite decent for it's asking price.
For those who still complaining, suggest you get a more matured Redmi Note 4 or Redmi Note 3 with Snapdragon processor, you can't go wrong with these successor, almost every issue in this phone is fixed on it's successor.
This Redmi Note 2, I considered as an experimental device that mark the transition from low end device to decent midrange device, albeit with very short life time.
This is a good phone. I bought it in september 2015 and still typing on it now. However, i will never buy any redmi again because from 2015 till now, my phone is still running android 5.0 lollipop.
