Is there any changes in redmi note 2 battery life after miui8 update
This mobile is defective. 4G works in random areas, I have shitty Wiko 4G to compare so Xiomi is sh..t. Second thing about modem is, somethimes is working some times is not.Internal browser says in this case "too many connections".... but with one browser?
Spying account is last thing what I want to have.

Imthi, 12 Jan 2017 its very good but now display broken how to get it if anyone tellme price and way of purchas... moreI would say go for any authorized Xiaomi center to get the screen replaced. Of course, asked for the price before decide to repair. If the price is too expensive, then go to any phone repair shop. You also need to make sure the part is original part rather than a cheaper clone. Bear in mind as this phone is not as popular as iPhone and Samsung phone, spare part maybe limited in stock.
its very good but now display broken how to get it if anyone tellme price and way of purchasing this display pls.I am from srilanka
Overall, a pretty good basic Android smartphone to start with.
Downsides are bad battery life (but charging time also is very fast) , and bad camera, no NFC. Used for 1 year, and no problem so far. Bought 2 spare battery for power hungry usage. Over heating has been vastly reduced after several software update, have updated to official global MIUI 8, with usable Google Playstore, still is Android 5.0.2, but everything on UI look and feel the same as it's higher price siblings like MI5. Maybe it won't suitable for used as primary phone due to various shortcoming, but perfectly usable as secondary phone. It's newer upgrade, Redmi Note 3 Pro and Redmi Note 4 are much better choice now than this, with Android 6.0.1 out of the box, much better battery life, no overheating, metal build, fingerprint, 32GB and 64GB choice, and still at a price close to this phone when launching.
What I like most is the lag free and bug free OS that still got maintained up to this day, despite it's cheap price.
I have used the phone for years, sound/camera/performance are great. Only the built material is poor.
for the people who are complain about battery, why you don't try an alternative solution? you could install cm rom and see how the battery is better
Anonymous, 26 Nov 2016I post these to counter those negative comment.
First thing first, this is a budget phone, so... moreactually, the complaints and rants that you speak of, I find them rather helpful (and interesting as well) because it helps buyers and device enthusiasts like myself, to monitor the various problems or issues that every device might present after using for a certain length of time. Through these various comments I can weigh the odds of encountering the same problems and in the future, base my judgement or choice of device based on most people's opinions and the troubles they encounter.
It has occurred to me after a while, that many buyers don't consider the 'after sales' services that a company should offer their patrons, things like tech support and repairs or warranties which should include unit replacements of defective ones. This is what defines the integrity of a firm and which differentiates them from a start up tech company. This is also the reason why I think that the Korean firms such as Samsung and LG are pretty much in a class above the others (mostly the ones from China) because of their tech supports, their 3rd party supports (accessories, etc), pretty much like what Apple does for their consumers.
Lastly, I am afraid that my fear could be true regarding the Chinese brands, that their QC (quality control) is not at par YET with the leading companies in the world of mobile tech. They (the Chinese brands) may have amazingly equipped factories and set ups and well trained R&D personnel, but at the end of the assembly line must be a set of QC personnel with a sharp eye for slight defects of the units they ship out of their factories becoz this could either mean they win a market or they lose face.
In closing, I just want to share an old experience I had in Beijing in the aspect of patronising a new tech. Back in the late 90s when MP3 players were beginning to soar as a new medium for personal music players, I decided to try out a new device. I bought one but was immediately disappointed with a certain problem with the new device. I called up the 'start up' company which happened to be a Korean company (it was basically unheard of in a sea of tech giants like Sony and Samsung). To my surprise, they sent their man who fortunately spoke some English and helped me thru the problem, at no further expense to me. He was very sincerely helpful and courteous. This is one lesson I learned in buying tech devices, always check if the company has tech support that will truly help you out of your misery after you banged your buck on their product, be it mid-priced or premium priced. (I apologise for such a lengthy post).
After 2 years of use, my ReNo2 battery life is done for...
1℅ depleted every 2 mins and only last 2 hours for playing games also it heats like crazy under the camera part, i do not understand what is wrong but im very upset with this phone i wish i could buy a better one like samsung but i got no money left, so frustrated.
Pj, 16 Sep 2016Suck, bad, terrible battery life since i bought from last year, official website said it can l... morePrecisely!!! How can we trust them now when they say Redmi 4 Prime has 4000mAH so wow last two days?? I bought Redmi note 2 and the battery is like, goes flat from 100 to 0 in 20 mins! If this is just my bad luck for getting a defective unit, then how can I be sure I wont get another defective unit when I buy Redmi 4 Prime? I emailed Xiaomi about the problem they just replied with a generic troubleshoot guide to stupid battery saving settings, which duh I already tried! They should give a refund for purchasers like me, or a replacement; if the model is inherently defective then replace it with a new model they boast about! Being cheap doesnt mean it shouldnt at least work like a normal phone!
please guys how do i get the front camera settings coz wenever i open d camera there is always an icon to switch to d front camera at the right top corner but it disappears with a twinkle of an eye and it won't come back again, pls i need some1 to help me out
