eli.b, 27 Apr 2016I am a little confused by the majority of the problems reported...I am using the 3GB/32GB mode... moreI bought one Redmi note 3, mediatek version, from Gadget & Gear in Bangladesh about 7 days back. Didn't know that it has a SnapDragon version also. Was running smoothly with some minor heating issues during charging and heavy browsing, but today I can't download anything from Play Store, Error Code #490, tried everything they suggested.
Can anybody help me, I had only 3 days replacement warranty.

jesu, 27 Apr 2016I am facing dual sim problem. I cant use sim on both slot it shows no service. pls suggest the... moresame problem, Amazon told they will replace but not refund.

I am a little confused by the majority of the problems reported...I am using the 3GB/32GB model since 1st of March and never had a problem with overheating in balance mode (the default one)during use or during charging no matter whether I am using the stock charger or another one. The camera is mediocre, but this was known from the early reviews over the net, so no surprise. The screen is not gorilla glass which was also known right after the first unboxing reviews - a tempered glass protector is a must of this phone. The aluminium back cover may get scrached - so a back cover of any type is also a must if you want to keep the phone pretty. Google launcher can replace the MIUI one without much hassle and is working stablely. I am a very heavy user polling mail 24/7 and somethimes receiving more than 10thousand emails, kido plays "Lego" games (battery killers), and in very rare cases have started charging the phone with a battery full less than 40% at night. In comparisson my Nexus 5 could not survive for more than 8 hours with the same rate of usage even without the kid playing games on it. Fingerprint reader works as a charm as well as dual sim - never had issues so far. LTE and GPS are quick and stable. I ordered the phone directly from China and was expecting to have a lot of bloatware, but actually there are only 2-3 chinese apps (which I did not bother to remove at all) and Google play services were preinstalled and working smoothly. The phone is in fact a bit heating in Performance mode and the software is constantly suggesting you to switch to balance mode, since in performance mode the heating protection is disabled - for people with overheating problem, check whether the phone is not in Performance mode, it is known that it will be heating in this regime. But even in this mode my phone is not heating more than my Nexus under the same load. In balance more this is not the fastest phone, but this is for this amount of money to be expected. The phone is performing better for applications which are actually able to use more cores, but this is valid for all of the multicore devices on the market. The speaker is very loud, but the sound is a bit distorded - known from the early reviews as well. Shortly - for the money of 207USD the phone is great but is not the best phone on the market. If you consider buying this phone, investigate carefully from where you are actually buying it - the rating of the seller and the reviews of other customers who bought it from the same merchant. Keep in mind also that you might need to pay customs fees. I bought it from Aliexpress from the merchant with the highest customer score and am happy with the device - it did not surprise me with anything I did not already know from the online reviews. Never had it frozen or unresponsive, it is definitely doing its job well both as a work tool and for games, but this is definitely not a flagship killer :-) if you are looking for such, this is not your phone, not for this price.
