I didn't expect that fail from xiaomi they improved redmi note 5 pro and 6 pro body quality
but still that price is very good to consider for buying
i'm curios on other rivals of redmi note 7 like: Samsung M20 & upcoming realme how they deal with Zach hands..

Do you know how many types of "plastics" are there? Glass is brittle and can't sustain compression. It breaks very easily, and inner tension may cause it to even break by itself.
Plastic can get scratched a bit, but ABS or reinforced/impact resistant are very difficult to break and downright impossible to shatter.
No, I wouldn't buy any $1500 phone, even if it was made of gold, one of the best thermal conductors out there - going above $200 is already hitting the diminishing return threshold.
But yes, I wouldn't mind plastic back (and removable battery), or hybrid alu/copper back with plastic to improve thermal dissipation.
