The number of active pixel is true 48MP but since it use Quad Bayer Array the amount of details is not gonna be be equal to Regular Bayer Array.

Vicky, 15 Jan 2019Can u plz tell us that the camera will peforme well or not?Simply it will process a 12mp or 48... moreIt all depends on Xiaomi processing the sensor is similar to 40MP on Huawei P20 Pro and we all know it perform great especially in 10MP.
The sensor can capture 48MP photos not just some interpolated like some moron say because it actually has 48MP active pixels but the details is less than regular Bayer Array sensor and at 12MP it will increase the sensitivity equivalent to a image sensor with 1.6 micron.
The biggest advantage of Quad bayer array is not only it has greater dynamic range than regular Bayer Array it also can capture faster HDR so you'll get less motion blur.

ok, this phone is great and all, but its Chinese version and I can't wait for the global version or at least a phone that works int he America. LIKE I CAN GET THIS PHONE FOR 1/2 the price what this flagships in America say that they have the best phones and we all know they don't

The notch looks ugly compared to the elegant water drop shape in other phones like Realme. I actually like RN6 Pro notch better. Why does Xiaomi choose that notch shape ??? It looks more like an abnormal ward coming out from nowhere.
