Secondly, did you know Redmi Note 7 with its Type C port takes more time to charge than Realme 3 with Micro USB port? That's some quality gap there. Look it up. Realme even has a bigger battery lol.
Also, Micro USB isn't really a disadvantage for half of the world's population because most people carry micro usb cables with them in most countries so you can borrow one to charge your phone if the need comes.

If you weren't so arrogant, you would have already fact checked everything I said as numerous people test these things and share their founding all over the internet. But your petty pride doesn't allow that.
lol i am not and never will be a fanboy of any brand. That's a disease specific to xiaomi and apple users. I had a bad experience with Oppo 4 years ago and refused to buy any phone related to them ever again (realme is related to Oppo) and it was my only purchase from oppo. I've owned more xiaomi phones than realme and you call me their fanboy?
I was hesitant to buy realme 3 but after seeing its unmatchable performance, quality and users' experience, I decided to give it a go and loved it. I never like any OS other than Android One & Stock, but realme 3 os works perfectly fine.
And please clarify what is wrong with color os? Or what is so good about miui and why it still fails to make redmi note 7 performance good?
You can't answer , can you? I've *proved* you wrong over a dozen times now. Even kids these days know more about android than you. Have a good day.

I agree with everything you said except that RN7 is worth the money. What you said pretty much explains why it's not worth the money, especially for long term use if you know about other phones. It is somewhat better for watching videos than realme 3 but it loses that single advantage for having screen and other issues.
Even more since you can get much better visual experience in same price on other phones (Xiaomi Mi A2 lite, Xperia Z5 Premium, LG G7 Fit, LG Q8 2017, Nokia 7.1, Nokia 5.1).

I'm honestly impressed by your ability to get so much wrong information. You try to sound like an expert but any dev from XDA would be doing a face palm on everything you said.
Since you at least have a interest in geeky bits of android, my advise to you is to spend a few weeks or a month to catch up with android phones. Judging by your responses, I'm pretty sure you're going to need at least a month to learn all about it.
I'm pretty sure you're a lightweight user. I could probably hand you a sd 450 phone and tell you it's sd 821 and you wouldn't be able to tell I lied, or you would know how bad sd 820 & 821 are. Hell, I can name sd 450 phones that perform better than lg v20.

So... That means your sd 821 did overheat after all, huh? You're saying both at the same time lol. My LG V20 literally melted. You're hilarious. All you've to do is a google search to find out you're wrong but you'd rather just be in denial. I can't fix that. LG V20 was a great phone other than for its performance thanks to its chipset. Please stop misguiding people. A phone of this price is a big deal to most people that are buying it. It's not the place to massage your ego.
And I see you're just a xiaomi fan boy that thinks miui is so great but can't back it up with evidence. Miui in a phone like this might as well be called a defect. Only people that like it are those with zero OS knowledge, just as yourself. Not only do you lack knowledge, the knowledge you do possess is flawed. I'm still waiting for you to answer all my questions about miui & chipsets but now I see you just aren't able to answer.
I used rn7 for 18-20 days. When you say "there is no way realme 3 can beat rn7, you're merely throwing around your biased hypothesis that are based on your false knowledge which hasn't been updated since 2015.
Realme 3 survived drop tests from the height of 10 feet six times without any damage except hardly visible scratches. It's not waterproof but was placed in water for 1 hour and still worked fine. It can play PUBG without overheating even during charging and in sunlight. Try doing that with your rn7 that everyone is complaining about for quality issues, especially screen, and come back to tell me that rn7 has better quality but you'll probably have to buy a new device to do that lol. So much for "using both in shop".
RN7 camera isn't special. Deal with it. Just about any phone in this price offers similar or even better camera experience.
I thought you knew a thing or two about OS but you chose rn7 for weekly updates. That's hilarious. I'm not even gonna go in details about it but if your phone isn't a bad one, it would run perfectly same for even 4 years without any update, root or custom OS. I think you just read a little on XDA and started thinking you're a expert of phones now lol.
Hm... So you want miui for features but you want root and custom rom to remove its features? I think you're just clowning around at this point. Realme 2

Among the ones you mentioned, Honor Play is well balanced so I'd recommend that. LG has better chipset but Honor Play chipset won't fail to meet your performance needs, be as heavy as it may be.
But these phones cost significantly more than rn7, no? In rn7 price, best are max pro m2 & realme 3, especially since you want a phone that will last several years. In my country, rn7 cost same as realme 3 pro so also check on that if it's in your budget.

But no... moreI love rooting, and i have does this since my first android phone way back in 2010 which google g1. anytime i try to buy a new phone, the first thing i consider is if i will be able to root when needed and if there are many developments for it when also needed. I hate vivo, oppo, lg and huawei because of these reasons. the last lg phone to end lg's era of developments was G3 and since then lg phones are lacking options to unlock bootloader and root because its too hard to attain root on lg latest phones. I play around a lot, so i always need to twist my phone to its maximum limit. rooting is good and awesome if you have the knowledge of it, and it doesnt demands good or stable software to do it but any good phone becomes so good when you have a root and optimized software

People here are complaining about how the phone can't handle PUBG on higher settings unlike the Realme 3, it's not even a gaming phone, if you want one then go for the ones advertised as "Gaming Phones". I'm sure some will say "Realme 3 is better than this one and it's cheaper." Then go and buy it. The camera is good even without GCAM, ya'll are just disappointed of the camera because it was advertised as a 48MP camera and it didn't live up to your expectations. My point is that the RN7 is good for casual users, light to medium gamers, camera enthusiasts with tight budgets, and those who are looking for a phone that is worth their money. If you don't mind MIUI and the slightly turning off battery life, the go for this one. If not, then go look for another phone. And one more thing, based on my experience, Redmi Note phones lasts for a long time.

Even sony flagships doesn't compete with other brand's midrange in camera. Yes they make the best sensors but they have the worst processing
Color os is stable??? Are you sure did you try it? It has more bloatware than miui with a lot of bugs. More bloatware doesn't means that the phone will have battery draining issues and overheating. The lack of optimization does. Xiaomi phones with Miui performs better than the ones with stock android
I didn't see anyone complaining about the performance and overheating for redmi note 7 except you
Of course Fhd is better than hd. Do you use your phone only for gaming?
Stop complaining and get a life if your phone has some problems you have an 18 month warranty go and use it instead if misleading people with fake numbers

Stumbled on this phone today. Looking at the hardware specs vs price, everything seems way too good to be true. I would appreciate to get some genuine thoughts about the phone: I'm mostly curious about longevity and security practices (I have my doubts considering Xiaomi is a Chinese company).
Other phones that caught my attention: LG G7 ThinQ, Honor Play.
Maybe there are better options for a similar price range I should consider?

Every single thing I said about RN7 & Realme 3 can be easily fac... morei can see you started using android phone just last year. who says SDN821 overheats? i used my mi mix for almost 2 years without heating problem unless am in the sun for too long and neither did my v20 with SD820 also heat up a bit. i sold my lg v20 because of lack of update on the side of lg aside it was a good phone. i have owned the redmi note 7 for 3 weeks since my mi mix damaged and i only miss my mi mix for its bezel-less design and large screen.there is no way realme 3 can beat note 7. i played with both phones at the shop and i chose note 7 for built quality, better camera and weekly updates and also rooting. and talking of custom roms and rooting, any long term android user love to do that to get ride of unwanted apps and features and custom roms comes when manufacturer dont provide updates or rom becomes baggy and this is what makes android android. even those with samsung galaxy s10, note 9 and high end flagships does root and instead custom roms

But no one wants root or custom OS if the phone works good as it is, unless you want to hack/modify apps. I'm pretty good at tweaking rooted android and I've made several extremely low end devices work going enough to play small games like Asphalt Nitro.
Those devices belonged to people with budget of less than $50. Some of these devices was so bad that it took me a full minute just to open settings in their phones. We're talking about mostly single core and max dual core processor phones with 512MB of RAM.
So I don't get your obsession with rooting and flashing ROMs on phones of this calibre.
