1. Download and install 'Force lte only' app
2. In the app set network type as lte (4g) only, this will prevent network from switching to 2g while sending sms.
I was unable to add my bank account on new phone. I had to change my upi number from my bank app. There was option in my baank app to change upi. I clicked it and just set the same upi number.

Using Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro
Have my bank app and also PhonePE / GPay apps.
When trying to link bank account and PhonePE/GPay - it says "Failed to initiate sending SMS"
Got so many suggestion on the net and fulfilled everything like\
- keeping enough balance to meet charges
- Switched off and Switched on
- Checked and ensured mobile number registered with Bank and PhonePE both are same
- Checked Network and tried when signals are very strong.
- Checked and ensured necessary permissions to send SMS for both Bank and PhonePE app
- Sent trial SMS to different numbers and found perfectly sending and reaching
- Cleared all Cache and other unwanted data
Then sent message to Redmi Support on Twitter and they have suggested to register the grievance here.
Shall I get the problem resolved.
