Sami98, 12 Jan 2020Is it official that redmi note 8 gonna receive android 10 update? They have to update atleast one OS I believe. Google has rules for android phone manufacturers but I'm not sure. I've read it somewhere. But there is a rule that they have to provide security updates atleast every three months.
The Redmi 7 Pro has received Android 10 but the regular 7 didn't. I don't know if non Pro models get it. I think atleast 1 "major" update is going to come to Redmi phones (with snapdragon SoC's). After that there will probably be MIUI updates only.

Redmi is no slouch, it's really a great phone for the money. But I personally haven't used a Redmi. My cousins (3 of them) have Redmi note 7 and they haven't complained anything about the phones.
On the other hand, Nokia's launch price was 400$, twice as expensive as the Redmi. Also note that in the Nokia 7 plus forum, there are many complaints about a headphone jack problem. (Some users also claim their devices are in real good condition without any issues)
Choice is yours. Don't purchase without warranty. If you can, pay a little extra and get an extended warranty. Get the most appealing device for you.

That might just be because of the update... moreI has update it monday/6.1.2020. before I'm using MIUI 11.0.3 is ok android system only using less than 10% battery. after update to MIUI 11.0.4 it using more than 25% battery.
