MarcoPolo, 15 Jun 202044-47 degrees CPU and 41-43 degrees battery.Lol I made it reach 90°
5 years. My longest serving phone. Volume rocker need more effort to work. battery health about 65-70%. Storage almost full. Front camera starting not focus since last week..might be light sensor or the camera itself
Other than that, its still run smoothly. Its a 5 years of a cheap midranger of 2019-2020 and somehow still works well with minimal damage. screen and back cover also still smooth due to hydrogel and case. Very satisfied
BRAVO, 25 Mar 2025Which version of GCam is stable? And how much is the difference between native camera app and ... moreThe results are amassing if you use google cam, it's like taking photo's from another phone totally diff photos for the stock camera, worth trying.
I like it, Its my dads but its mine now after he got a new phone. It has multiple cracks on the back, a detacthing screen, But its alright! It runs games properly, Has 128 GB storage, its pretty good and balanced!
Although it needs around 2 hours and 6 minutes to fully charge, Its awesome.
The best phone I ever had and still do it works fine but since it had water damage in the cpu GPU and the board or everywhere I think is time to let it go..
TO LINEAGE OS IT LIVES ON!!!!!!!!!!!
This phone, after being used by someones mother, is great after 6 years. Do NOT let the antutu scores force you, it's just that the optimisations for most apps today haven't been scaling greatly, but it's still the beast it was, and if you didnt hammer the battery daily or relentlessly push it to run genshin or sum, it'll do all your stuff easily.

[deleted post]Look at celsoazevedo (Google it, not sure if it's allowed here to post links) and search for ports with either config files for such phone or apps designed for it. I believe that in the "Modders" section some versions for the Note 8 Pro are listed.
An ang, 10 Oct 2024the camera is average, i suggest you install gcam, its will be better any timeWhich version of GCam is stable? And how much is the difference between native camera app and GCam photos? Worth trying?
I'm using this phone since October 2019, and it's a beast. Battery timing has reduced no doubt but the phone is running efficiently without any hiccups. I have replaced mostly apps with the latest available apk files from HyperOS and I'm thinking to use this phone for another year. I have purchased a slim 10k power bank and low battery timing issue has been partly resolved too 🙂👌🏻
The only thing I hated about this phone were haptics, it's like they got them from 2010 era.
After 5 years, this phone's battery is barely holding any charge. Accubattery says, it's holding only 2000mAh out of 4500mAh. So, it seems it's time to rest in peace for the Note 8 Pro. What next phone should I get (up to 260 euro)? I saw Poco X6 Pro, but I saw the prices go up even for the 8gb ram variant. I regret not taking Poco X6 Pro when I saw 8GB for exactly 250 euro. Maybe I should wait again, but I kind of need a phone right now in this scenario. How about non-Pro Poco X6 or Poco X7? Any of them are good or not? Maybe any other brand? I won't take any motorola below the edge 50 neo, though it is overpriced as well. Samsung is probably out of question because they make brick phones in mid-range category with the worst in-hand feel of sharp corners. I need something compact, but since I don't want curved screen, 74 / 75 mm in width will be my maximum.
Anonymous, 20 Feb 2025Had this phone since mid-2020, and it did me well until early 2025. Call of Duty Mobile ran on... moreI hope this time the message gets through. In 2025, in what refers to gaming, Real Racing 3 in this phone with the last MIUI version it supports (12.5.15) goes smoothly at 60 fps with only occasional frame drops at 45 fps in the busiest races, even if it gulps battery and, as per fps trusting the monitor to measure both temperature and frame rate present in developer options, playing for long the phone goes over 50° C, even close to 55° C, even if it cools down fast after stopping playing presumably thanks to the cooling system.
I can't talk about demanding games as Genshin Impact, but the RN8 Pro in 2025 still seems to be an usable device.
