He is not lying, many users on this forum are saying there are no concerning issues with overheating. I have just finished over 1 hour of pubg playing and my phone is fine. Maybe there are some faulty ones out there or maybe updates have solved the problem.

Is th... moreLmao im using redmi note 5a thats from 2017 2gb ram version 16 gb storage and getting updates still. I have miui 11 and everything runs great for very low end phone. This phone can probably last me 3 more years

after updating it to miui 11. Playing games are also smooth although if you play for more than 1 to 2 hours and turn the graphics for too high, it does heat up quite a bit, but it was acceptable apart from thermal throttling.
