I bought this phone over a year ago and I'm still very happy with it! I recently updated to Miui 12.5, and it's smoother than ever!

I have redmi note 8 pro, I recently got android 11 here in UK, this is really a very good phone by Xiaomi, the nly shortage is about network bands, it has 11 bands, if it had had 16 or 19 global bands, it would have been much better for network reception, it is still goodas the global version, but because of lack of some global bands; such as band 26, 41, 66, 12, 17, 66,it struggles for network reception in some places, despite thatI I am still staisfied because all its specs are very good, battery, camera, screen resolution, speed.......

my oem lcd screen rom cannot be updated by miui 12.5 or android 11 unlike stock paanel from xiaomi meaning you can't diy lcd screen anymore with this update as the touch screen function will be disabled.
i hope xiaomi can fix this by allowing legacy rom on miui 11 as i can't downgrade to the previous version and can only use the phone with a mouse.
i've send my feedback to xiaomi but no replies.
i hope for an option to roll back the update so i can use the touch screen again.
this iis a known problem on xda forum.
so when you diy lcd don't update the miui or the touchscreen will not work.

so my friend bought this phones few month ago, surprisingly this phone get 2 android updates
cmiiw afaik redmi phone usually get 1 android updates
I hope my redmi note 9 pro get 2 android updates too

With MIUI 12.5 full screen gestures stopped working. Its the same story with RN8 pro and RN9 pro. Please fire your developers immediately Xiaomi, thank you.

after miui 12.5 update, my touch screen doesn't work anymore. i've diy replaced the lcd 6 months ago and it was working until after the update it doesn't register any touch. i had to connect a mouse via usb c to use my phone. is xiaomi following apple disabling third party parts like lcd and battery? then i might as well buy iphone or galaxy. xiaomi is becoming greedy.

Been have this phone for almost years. Don't have any issue of this phone still work good even when Im playing genshin. No battery issue cus i Never update anything. The reason battery life is draining maybe because you usually charging while playing game or playing the phone for social media and any etc. I feel the charging slowing though. Maybe cus its almost year so the charger from the phone become old. But as best as i could review give this 8.5/10 for a phone.

can the issue with over sharpening video playback be resolved with mx player switching sw and hw decoder?
i have a possibility to buy it for a bargain and i watch a lot of videos so when i read about over sharpening i'm really wondering should i buy it at all?

I bought it in a April 2020. I was using it with one sim since. But, when i inserted the second sim, it is acting as if its one sim phone. No reaction to second sim card. Anyone had ghis issue?

1. Gallery having problem to interact with dual apps & certain 3rd party apps
2. Battery noticeably drain much faster even in standby mode.
3. Problem opening 3rd party apps & attaching files
4. Having problem sharing media from gallery
5. Camera quality seems off compared to previous version

Redmi note 8 pro after july 21 update i now have no data except for wifi it screwed up one of my banking apps one app just suddenly starts i have reset many times my solution is to chuckit in the ocean and never buy another chinese phone
