It's the case of Redmi 6, 6A and some... moreThank you for the precision I failed to make on the availability of some Kernel source codes released by Mediatek. Effectively, Mediatek has released Kernel source codes for Redmi Note 8 Pro, but except the Kernel source codes of the touch screen are not yet available at the moment. Anyway it's also worth mentioning that currently the Kernel source code for Redmi Note 8 "Standard" based on Snapdragon is not available yet, but knowing the diligence of Qualcomm to make them public, we know that it does not will not wait to come in the next. So hopefully the Kernel source code for Redmi Note 8 Pro based on Mediatek Helio G90t will be totally and completely available in the coming days. Thank you

In addition to recommending you to check camera tests on youtube, you should also know that the Helio g90t of the RN8 Pro has a triple image processing processor unlike the SD 665 of the RN8 standard which has only two, so in image processing quality term the RN8 Pro is preferable to the standard RN8. For the compatibility with Google camera, only the standard RN8 is compatible because it has a Snapdragon processor, which is not the case of the RN8 pro which is equipped with the g90t of MEDIATEK, which is particularly closed release source codes of kernel. So only the standard RN8 is compatible with the gcam. Thank you.

AnonD-893002, 30 Sep 2019Well, I obviously agree with you that the two processors are literally nearly identical in alm... moreSorry I'm no a native english speaker, I mean sustained load, I saw many videos on youtube where the G90T performs better on emulators the first minutes but then the FPS drops under the level of the 730.
