The last update came in May 2022. Despite the buggy fingerprint reader this is a nice phone. The lack of updates is a major flaw.

4/64 version is still running decently after replacing the battery last year. I am running android 14 with crdroid and microg. I can do all the basic tasks just fine.

Camera is slow, without proper focus, photos are blurry. UI lags like there's no tomorrow. Only good things are the nice display and battery.

Taking photos with redmi note 8t. Is frustrating. Camera takes too long to grab the focus still the pictures come out more the often blurry out of ficus or focus on the far away objects

I'm using it for more than 2 years and it's the best phone I ever had. I dropped it in the toilet , one year ago (got it back in about 5 seconds) still working without problems. Software problems that were solved along the way, other than this, I have to say I got lucky with this phone.

With Pixel Experience 13 official, this phone works like a charm in 2022. Even the 3/32 variation. I'm using Parrot043 GCAM with GM1 white balance on this phone. As a daliy rig, it provides average experience for lightweight applications.

I had a Nokia 7.2 on contract after 8 months I threw it in the bin it was that bad battery was useless,Bluetooth didn't work, could not even set a ringtone Nokia help could not help at all eventually binned it replaced it with the redmi note 8t and it was an amazing phone considering it was only £140 nice colour glass. back good camera quick wen browsing great battery life could not fault it at all I would gladly recommend the Xiaomi redmi note 8t
