I have this phone, a couple of things it is riddled with Xiaomi spyware, in bright sunlight the screen completely washes out and the grill at the top of the screen becomes clogged with dust so one begins to think one is losing volume, (take a soft toothbrush and gently brush the dirt out),there is an app installed in the system called Security (not google) but it has nothing to do with security, instead it is a reporting app that sends data back to Xiaomi.
I would NOT reccomend this phone.

This phone does NOT support Galileo, making the GPS useless in my opinion for European users. The product information is incorrect.

How good is the notification light? It's very tiny. Is it still easily visible?

If he/she is someone unterstand basic software problem, then rn9pro is ok. If he/she doesn't understand anything and need stable UI n OS, choose realme. 4Gb ram for those who isn't a gamer or heavy user is still ok.
Not all Xiaomi unit has perfect OS installed, some has this problem and other has that problem. Sometimes it lagging and need to be reset, if he/she doesn't know, they will be panic don't know what to do.
I bought my mom realme 6pro not rn9pro for this same reason. I have to admit that oppo/realme/vivo has more stable UI for most of the time, almost error free. I used oppo f7 for 2 years with almost no hiccup at all. My wive's oppo R7s and F1 since 2016 is still useable with no lag till now (for youtube and social media only).
I'm using rn9pro for 3 weeks now and i have met some hiccup already, but overall is ok because I know what to do.

So, obviously, redmi note 9 pro is much better device that a51.

Redmi note 9 pro have 6gb base variant. Realme 6 have one better thing than redmi note 9 pro, and that is 90hz display. It is important rly, and user can feel the difference. But 9 pro have gorilla glass 5 front and back, bigger battery, better camera, sd soc ( it's the same speed like g90t but will have better developer support). I suggest to go on 9 pro, cause I get it and is great.

I have a redmi 9 pro 128Mb for about a month now. Wow , what an experience. Love it. I have moved up from an Apple 9 and its like comparing a pushbike and a rocket. I love the freedom to customize the phone to my liking, get rid of bloody google and its bloatware. Huge battery , Much much faster than the Apple and on top of it, all apps are free. Love the camera. And of cource i love the price( 199 Euro) . Long live Xiaomi .

The phone is good. Very long battery life, nice layout, etc, But it also has a few problems with the design
First is the camera. It is literally a hole in the middle of the screen. Its very annoying as it blocks quite a view on the phone
The second is the length. Longer phone doesn't necessarily mean its good and because of its length it messes up a lot of interface and button placements on most apps especially the control ones when playing a game.
The last and probably the most problematic, its the power button placement. Whenever you hold the phone in your hand, it vibrates a lot because it always register a fingerprint even if you dont intend to, sometimes opening the phone and messing things up. That means it will lock itself up after a few unintentional fingerprint scan forcing you to enter the password instead which ruins the purpose.
That's not all, since its also the power button, whenever you try to view the lock screen to check the time for example, it opens up to the home screen instead if you aren't fast enough, and even if you manage to be at the lock screen, pressing the power button to turn it off will open it to the home screen instead because fingerprint > power off.
Overall 7/10 because performance is excellent nonetheless.

But if you asked about the macro camera on RN9pro, well for me it's very good, the macro camera has Auto Focus so you can choose where to focus, and from very near distance such as 1cm. So you can use it as a magnifying glass :)) detail picture and good colour too. You can almost see your dead skin cell with this macro cam.

-snapdragon 720g chipset that is battery efficient and good at games
-has simpler ui
Realme 6
-90hz display or 90fps display(redmi has 60)
-also has 30w charger
-4500 mah battery(still large)
-helio g90t chipset not battery efficient but for heavy gaming
-MAIN PROBLEM is i can only but the 4gb version
-Ui is ok

I'd but this phone, but the punch hole in the middle really irritates me. I prefer the regular note 9 in terms of design (since it has a punch hole on the left), but it has a weaker mtk processor
